No it's not resonating with anyone outside the people who frequent this forum that are heavily invested in the 3P ecosystem.

People who only buy official products are content on the price, aesthetic, and frequency of the MP line. There is no reason for us to defend the product vehemently, nor is there any reason for us to frequent the 3P side of this board to defend our purchasing decisions as you do here.

If you enjoy buying 3P products that's fine, but don't try to deny the sole reason you are here is justification for your 3P purchases.

The Canadian price is so high because our dollar sucks. That's just the way it is and probably will be for quite sometime.

If I had to guess, Megatron has a higher development cost than pretty much all of the other characters. He can't be sold and released by Hasbro and his repaint potential is very minimal. Less figures made = higher cost.

It's amazing how much sense that makes when you actually think and not yell out the first thing that pops in your mind like a fourth grader that has had too much sugar.

Actually the reason I posted in here was to point attention to price gouging as this is a new price announced today. Make up whatever you want bro. I dont care if you buy them or not. Either way it makes no difference to me. I just want to bitch about it because ot pisses me off

Again. The supplier and the retailer are a symbiotic entity. One does not exist without the other. And as it is seen across every retail outlet in North America today- Megs is 229.99 usd. It's a collectively decided cost.
Making this about the Canadian dollar is NOT a valid point. In fact the only reason I have both us and cad on my post is because most people are american or canadian who I talk to and it saves them having to do the math.

And to extrapolate- most of the people I have conversed with today about this are Americans and there hasnt been even one of them who disagrees with this point- its gouging. Flat out gouging

It's like some are personally offended that somebody else dares to not like the price. I think the word Plastic Therapy is looking for is either "apologist" or "battered wife." The collector community is full of examples.

It's amazing to me that there's so much bickering over this crap, though, when the real mystery is a rerelease when the Japanese market still has the previous run in stock.

Perhaps HLJ is just Japan's TRU, the place their poor otaku won't shop because everything is a dishonorable 100y more than Gojira-mart.

That is a good way of looking at it. I do wish it shipped in bot mode so that maybe they could get around that (or maybe it doesn't matter). I do wish he was closer to the $160-$180 range though. He is just a little too much for me as he will be out around the same time other expensive toys.

TFsource's details page for Megatron states he is going to come in packaging as big as MP-10 Optimus, so he must be coming with some accessories to justify the size of packaging and cost.

I think these reissues are good news for those who want to complete the 'core' Decepticon cast! :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I think it's more a case of people being fed up of the constant nagging about issues like the price and other minor things. This isn't even the MP-36 thread, so I don't see why MP-36 pricing and design is being argued here in the first place.

Personally, I think this is a little pricey. I was hoping for around 14.000 JPY after discounts, but I don't see it as a major issue that it's a little more expensive. It is a major, major character after all, and one that will sell really well I reckon. If you have an issue with the price/design or other things. Simply, don't buy it. There's no good coming on here going on and on about it. Takara don't care about the complaints in here, they do care about sales numbers.

    On topic: Yay Starscream!

Why does MP-10 need a reissue? I could see if they were doing a + version.
