My original MP-17 had white paint spilled on the red crest so they may have always painted the red first? One of the reasons I’m getting the + version is to finally have an MP Prowl without paint flaws on his head so needless to say I’m very concerned right now about all the paint flaws on the heads of the + versions in pics.

Still waiting (im)patiently for A3U to ship!

Haha yes! It was not easy to set up, took a minute or two of balancing to get it right. Definitely would not be possible with my loose og Prowl.

Hey maybe you’re right. The insignia’s not such a big deal when viewed from certain angles anyway. I’m sure I will make my peace with it.

    (I have to :) )

Hopefully those ordering from certain retailers can get returns if the paint is too messed up.

Speaking of differences between 17 and 17+:

Looks like they moved the moulds from China to Vietnam. So I guess give the Vietnamese a break? It’s their first time assembling this guy :lol

Other than the butterface, mine is pretty good. Small areas of imperfect paint but nothing too concerning. I’m am seriously impressed with how tight the joints are for such an old and presumably used up mold. That hip joint took some effort to spin around the first time. I’d say almost the perfect level-he can hold any pose but not so tight that I worry about breakage.

@Sam , I know you and others have reported that the insides of the feet are now painted (awesome!) and it really shows in your picture, but are the insides of the lower legs painted now, too? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but they look like they are in your shot!

My Hasbro Masterpiece Datsuns are still nice and tight in their joints although I did need to do some sanding to get them to hold their rifles straight. The only pose I ever put them in is a more natural version of the stance of the original toys.

I can confirm that they are. I have the now mandatory eyelash-in-the-paint on one lower leg, now that I look, so they're definitely painted. :)

Awesome! This is great news for me because I have my guys stand with their feet at a 45 - 90 degree angle to each other so their inner legs are usually very visible. I hope Wheeljack+ gets that long deserved extra paint coverage, too!

The back of the gun handle between the tabs that meets the section of the palms that is perpendicular to the long axis of the forearms.

Word on the street is they took back the second batch of prowls due to all the paint issues and will give them a more premium finish ...

And if you believe that , you’ll love my joke about Ticonderoga New York !

At 1st I thought it will be just a normal repaint but after getting mine, I never expect that it to be so impressive in anime colour, good job on TakaraTomy

Mine just arrived - have not removed it from the box yet but the box finish is very dull. Very noticeable in my low-lit basement - and after comparing to some other MP car boxes, this is very low-gloss.
