This. A definite must own as has been said many times. Easily one of my favorite figures.

I got The 20th DVD Prime. He's basic, clunky, the colours are terrible and the sculpt is dull. Zero play value. He's one of a few figs I own that I honestly regret. I put Not really, because I really wanted MP-04, because the colours, paint and trailer make him look awesome for display. If you're willing to dish out $200+, go for him, mostly because he has slightly better colours than regular MP Convoy and has the trailer. The actual robot is nothing special.

Really over-rated, but not terrible by any means.

Got every version of this guy there is, and I heartily recommend the MP-01 as the definitive version.

It's like they took everything great about Transformers and summed it up in one toy.

Do any transformers have "play value" from a collector's point of view. Man do I disagree with you there "split Lip" b/c I don't know about you (well, now I do), but Masterpiece Prime and trailer look splendid on my shelf.

Of course, they're TOYS. I'm a collector, and I still play with my toys.

Don't get me wrong, I judged it fairly. MP-04 is clearly a collector-based figure, not meant to be played with. He's nicer looking and has the trailer. 20th Prime was supposed to be the general retail version. He was made to be a toy aswell as a collection peice.

You wouldn't catch me having MP Megatron and Starscream tussle. They'd never survive it. Though 20th Prime could, but the metal legs and torso just really hurt him. (they also make it hard for him to stand, as mine had really weak ankles)

Dunno what the attitude is for, "iceclimber", but you don't know ANYTHING about me. And I just said MP Convoy looks like a great display peice.

20th DVD Prime has lighter red, blue gun, a talking base and no chrome part. MP-01 is overall better

I bought MP-01 recently and it's one amazing figure. Looks great in robot mode (vehicle mode is good too), and fun to transform!

    Get it now!!!

There's a reason there's a Masterpiece line of Transformers at all and that's because Masterpiece Optimus Prime is one of the best Transformers toys ever. I have the Hasbro release with the battle damage. With a pair of longer repro smokestacks, I don't even notice the battle damage. It is the centerpiece of my collection and my favorite toy of all time.

Oh yeah, he is worth it. I got the original US release of him when he was released. Then got the movie version that came out here, and then just last month broke down and ordered MP-04, meant JUST to keep in his box and be a collector's piece. The mold is great- not really my favorite transformer, but something that seems like it belongs in everyones collection.

The DVD version is everywhere. MP-04 is the only other Prime I've seen in stock through online retailers and on ebay, for around $230 +/-.

Meanwhile, Hasbro's 20th can be found on ebay for ~150 MISB, and the MP-01's I've been watching (on ebay) have all gone for a little under $200 MISB even though they're usually marked as $300-400 with BIN.
