I just received my used battle damage MP Optimus Prime today and it seriously blows my entire collection out of the water. I use to think my Leader Class ROTF Optimus Prime was masterpiece level but after feeling the weight of the diecast on MP Prime and all the unnecessary features like the shocks absorbers for each RUBBER tire. This beast just makes every figure in my collection look like childsplay. I still need to build my DMK 01 Optimus Prime kit, but I'm not sure it's going to hold a candle to the sheer awesomeness of MP Prime.
Sorry for the newbie rant but I feel like a little girl who just met Justin Bieber.

If anyone is wondering about the scratches etc, I bought him used without any accessories except the Matrix of Leadership for $40+$20 ship

get binaltech. see how those feel.

    - diecast car parts
    - real world cars just like the ones in my sig
    - some have a very G1 feel to them
    - rubber tires
    - tons of articulation points

buy BT hound for starters. that one too has shocks. :D

Well in all honesty, you are comparing him to movieverse. He is great though. By the way, great deal on him. I actually like the battle damage.

You can fix those pipes for like $10 btw.

In all fairness he´s comparing a Collectors item with a toy made for mass production.

In all honesty, my MP Starscream blows any MP Movieverse item out of the water. I am G1 Bias though.

Also, MP01 is still to this day probably one of the best toys ever made. Please note the word "toy" since the thing is built like a tank and you can play with it.

ohh. congratulations on your first MP. except for MP04, the others pale in comparison when it comes to weight.

Dunno, if I was a kid I would find MP a bit dull. That´s why to me it´s more of a great collectors item.

MP are Masterpieces for a reason. :p

My MP Prime towers my entire G1 collection on display. Prime puts the "master" in "masterpiece"!

Are you guys gonna buy the new version? I´m sticking with the current one. 200 bucks for a new MP seems too much.

I'm passing on the new one. It doesn't bother me that he's not in scale with the MP seekers.

In the states, its looking like we're going to pay $250 plus s/h. Probably close to $270-280 when its all said and done.

I think the new MP Optimus' alt. mode looks way better than the current version, but I doubt its going to even be close in terms of the amount of toy you get for the money. The current MP optimus is just so damn heavy I can't stand it......and its probably my favorite toy figure of all time except original G1 optimus (love it enough that I have 5 versions).

Stop posting that little Optimus. He's awesomeness is undeniable. The price tag is ridiculous though.

whosdawhatsda? Why are they trapped in an aquarium? Lol.

If it makes you feel like that, then I guess that you don't have a Buster Prime.

I wish I bought Buster when he was in the $100-$150 range, however I still think Masterpiece Prime is on another level. If Buster had shocks, rubber tires, diecast chest plate and they took out the batteries/speakers and made it like the Voyager class version with Matrix of Leadership inside the chestplate, then I would consider Buster a Masterpiece.
