You're assuming the prices directly reflect how complex the transformation is or parts count or some such other nonsense... they don't, TT charge as much as they think we'll pay for it, simple as that.

 

Yeah, but one of the reasons people were of the opinion that MP-44 was worth the cost was the complexity (not an opinion I agree with) it's way harder to sell someone on a toy that expensive that's way more simple. Especially with a more obscure character.

 

Car Robots Black Convoy still looks the best of all the black Optimus Prime repaints because he’s not black in robot mode.

Oh agreed, it was an 'excuse' regularly used but the evidence has never really supported it IMO, prices seem to go up and up regardless. I also agree it would be harder to to sell a less popular character at that price. Which is why I a) don't think this will be CR Back Convoy and b) likely to be a trailer-less black repaint of MP-44.

 

I don't think we'll be seeing all Autobot leaders, at least not within the foreseeable future. And while the poll results might give us some insight, so far (post MP Star Saber) it's been pretty random.

 

Honestly, I have little interest in Prime’s trailer generally. I own multiple, I have to get another with ER Prime, and they just take up space. Would definitely be interested in a significantly cheaper black MP44 without all the gimmicks.

XTB already did an MP Cliffjumper. The only competition worth considering is Fans Toys sometime in 2024.

 

The fact it has it's own number means it can really only be one of two things, either BW2 or Car Robots. I'm leaning towards BW2, as he's the original Black Convoy.

 

BWII would be Black Lio Convoy though. Or "Copy Convoy".

This is a black MP-44, Takara is just random with their numbering.

At this point nemesis prime/ black convoy is basically his own character with repeated appearances in both the MP and Generations line. Not really a surprise he would get his own #, he even has his own backstory.

 

If they release a blue repaint later on, and they all include the Starscream head, you'll all get your Seekers done as well.
