Darn, was hoping Ratbat's cassette case would be red; the cassette cases make nice stand-ins for the "compressed" energon cubes. Oh well.

But damn, both Soundblaster and Ratbat look fantastic. Can't wait for them to arrive.  

 

Would buy Ratbat as a standalone. Not going to shell out $150.

Soundblaster does look very cool, though.

 

I was wondering about that, he looks incomplete without them.

Ratbat is the only piece I really want from this set. The G1 Frenzy/Ratbat 2-pack were the only Decepticon cassettes I had as a kid and I really liked Ratbat a lot.

If anyone happens to get this set and wants to sell their Ratbat, let me know.

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

I gave mine another once over and didn't see anything glaringly wrong with it. The clearances on some of the pieces during transformation weren't as nice as on Soundwave, but I just figured that's due to this being about the fourth time this mold has been in production since last year.

No idea what the problem might be. Both my SB and Ratbat seem fine.

 

wish Ratbat was sold separately.

 

My initial knee jerk reaction was to pass on this but with every picture I see I want it a little more. Ratbat looks great and I like the color contrast between him and Soundblaster.

 

Great looking MP. I have him on pre-order but after seeing him side by side with Soundwave, I think I'm going to pass. The only thing I really want is Ratbat, but he's not worth the $150 price tag. I do like him, but I'd rather throw my money at MP Asia Exclusive Starscream since I don't have him. If I have some extra money to throw around, I may get MP SB later on if he's still around. Great pics though!

I agree. The colors are amazing together. I think it's the best looking MP pairing to date.

 

Yeah, I remember one thing I loved as a kid were the decos on the post-Diaclone TFs. Some of these guys had beautiful and exciting color schemes that gave them a real modern edge (especially for the mid-to-late '80's), especially the Decepticons. SoundBlaster & Ratbat definitely bring back those feelings. As badly as I want Megatron 2.0, these guys get me really excited about the possibility of MP Galvatron.

Agreed. It should have been interchangeable covers, one red and one purple over a clear chest. I like how the purple cover evokes Soundblaster's extended chest compared to Soundwave and I don't have any attachment to a red chest, so mine will probably have the purple cover full time.

 

That Soundblaster is beautiful to behold, no two ways about it. I'm almost considering picking it up. Looks that good! But the price...AND the timing. If Takara had waited even a year or so after MP Soundwaves release for this, I would have picked this up without any hesitation.

Ratbat's transformation looks incredible. I really thought that the gold booster were separate pieces. It amazes me just how much Takara engineers managed to hide them with in his transformation.

If by some dark miracle I ever stumble on this guy on sale (or if we see a State wide release one day), I'd pick him up.

 

I'm sure Hasbro could make a pretty penny selling Ratbat as a separate toy. Make it happen!
