Wow, what an amazing figure this truly is. The simplicity of the engineering, the overall look and accuracy to the original generation one character, all while updating the look to a much more modern one. That being said, what a headache he was to customize! To begin I took EVERY single part of the figure apart to clean with alcohol, degreaser, and then an industrial brake cleaner! I sanded the entire figure 4 times with finer and finer grit of sandpaper to ensure clearance of all part and proper adhesion of the paints. I then chromed all of the robotic parts with mirror chrome and air frame aluminum, and painted the rest of the part in custom mikes red and metallic blue. One the figure was done I moved on to working on the HYPER detailed trailer and roller. I tried to emphasize a large number of the details on the trailer while not going overboard. The trailer was chromed and highlighted with various metallic tones. The unique aspect of this figure I added was light up eyes and a light up matrix! The eyes and matrix chamber are controlled by a single battery pack in Prime's back, and the battery is easily replaceable. Prime's gun also has a high intensity blue LED installed within it as well. the devil is in the details and you sir are a master of the dark arts. jokes aside this a beautiful paint job and all the little details inside the chest cavity is stunning and brings life to the mold in a way that is just awe inspiring. and then theres the inside of the trailer.
At first I was like, hey, that's a pretty good paint job on Optimus... but when I saw the inside of that trailer, wow, just wow. That is just all kinds of amazing on it's own. Great job!
I just got MP-10 and have to agree. It is an incredible figure...... but not as amazing as yours. The trailer details you've highlighted alone are as complex and perfect as it gets. My neck and shoulders hurt just imagining all the time you spent hunched over making this thing as gorgeous as it is. Prime himself gained so much with all his inner workings brought to life.
