I love how complicated the neck and back look. It shows, without a serious detriment to accuracy, how intricate this thing is. The gun mode looks like a jigsaw puzzle, but again it's only because it's clearly so complex.

I just hope it's easier on the hands than the first MP Megs.

G1 Transformers never had teeth, that's what their mouths always looked like in the cartoon.

Looks good and I love the cartoon accuracy. I will definitely get this guy, but I'm not sure he will replace Despotron in my display. Despo is just so clean and solid in bot mode.

 

Love the toon accuracy! This is (to me) what a masterpiece figure should be! I know I'm in a small group of people over here but I feel like everything post MP21 is where takara really stepped up their game. Great Alt-modes and show accurate robot modes, even the BW figures look awesome (and I don't like BW). Can't wait to have this guy on display with Shockwave while they patiently await a new toon accurate Starscream mold

I'm excited, but for some reason (maybe bc we've seen the grey prototype for months now), I'm not as "holy shit mp megs" excited as I was expecting to be. It's obviously the best looking megatron, but that back and the panels on the gun mode, while understandable and probably not nearly as noticeable in hand, are kinda ehhhh

I don’t think that Takara has anything against silver. They released silver Megatron in CW line not long ago.

There could be a couple of reasons for choosing matt grey:

• Better cartoon accuracy
  
  
• To keep the paint from chipping - there a lot of small moving parts, panels, hinges as transformation looks complex
  
  
• To look less as the realistic Walther P-38, probably to legal reasons.

This is so beautiful. I'm so glad I waited and didn't buy Appollyon, Despotron, or Tyrant.

 

The flail is jointed to allow for posing. Neat!

 

Huh. Never noticed.

Doing a quick google image search shows why the toy sculpts look so weird though. The animation models almost always have a slightly darker grey inner mouth. so even without teeth, it doesn't just look like a gaping hole. Hopefully they do the same, otherwise I can just paint the mouth in myself. Until then though, still looks like grandpa left his dentures out.

in the pic with the mace it looks like the inner mouth is painted though, so who knows.

I'm going to buy this guy for sure but just as a default buy. Still not sure about the waist. G1 Megatron always had a big black diaper but seeing it in toy form...meh.

 

News post is missing the word Official in it. Otherwise call master piece scale megatron...

Damn good news to see it is true. I love my Apollyon, but like I said when this was leaked...3P or official, I liked it better than any 3P period, especially the DX9 attempt. Glad to see it is official.

That face was always the absolute best Megatron to me.

 

Was gonna say something but since Megatron and Galvatron are one and the same, screw it, I'll let it slide.

Besides, I love Megatron as equally as Galvatron and this figure is beyond awesome! (DAMN MY LIMITED BUDGET!!!!)

 

Yeah that's my feeling, he's also covered in hinges and gaps much like Ironhide...I'm torn. After the initial wow factor I'm thinking for the most part I prefer what I already have.

 

I have clearly missed those....
