If you have thinner , you can take some using a small brush , then try to take some paint from the back of the face plate , the same color you want to paint. I suggest using the damaged faceplate. after extract significant amount of said paint , proceed to lightly paint that area. My neutral face got scratched a lot but using this method i always managed to fix it completely

 

I wouldn't call it outside the realm of possibility; as some have pointed out, it wasn't so long ago we thought we'd NEVER get a properly done G1 Megatron...

 

I am still waiting for mine. Do you guys think paint scratching is just due to poorly applied paint? I am thinking of spraying scratch prone areas with Tamiya Gloss Clear or Pearl Clear once I open the box to lessen this problem.

 

IMHO this is the greatest Megatron ever. He was my favorite character since '84 and I can't imagine a better representation of him as a toy that actually transforms into a gun. The engineering is mind-blowing.

 

I love the nice little detail like this arrow to show which way to put the hand back on after taking it off! Damn! I love this figure!

So any tips on the first step (substep 3 in the manual) when folding the gun barrel back? The molded teeth seem to be way too big to actually fold correctly and I am afraid to use too much force to bend it into position.

Edit: I'm tempted to use an exacto knife to trim the teeth but don't want want to do that unless I have too.

Another day gone by and still no movement. Did yours show any update today?

 

No movement today, no help at the local post office. Maybe something broke down and they just haven't bothered to re-scan them? Not much better than imagining them being stolen...

 

Mine was EMS from Anime Export. What about yours? Perhaps the shipping service used has something to do with the delay we are experiencing.

 

With all these reports of paint getting scratched and paint chipping off. I'd been really thinking of getting this Megatron or waiting until later. But now I think I'll just wait for a reissue and hope they use more durable paint and/or fix their application to deal with the paint chipping. Or just wait and see if they do a silver metallic redeco down the road.

I don't have it out, but its basically the same a Magnus' box.

 

Not sure, mine is fine, it is made so the barrel doesn't flop. You may just be not wanting to use the right amount of force needed. If you feel it's needed just lightly sand the teeth down until you can move it, but not enough to remove them.

 

Make sure it's an actual chip and not just a fleck of plastic or paint from other parts of the toy that may have settled on the face in packaging

I figured out how TFSource got away without adding the orange plug. They wrap so much bubble wrap around the box you can't see the gun on it.
