I've been making my own weapon effects.
I'm glueing angel paper (it's used for nail art, goodness knows how I found such a thing) around a piece of wire and then cutting it to the shape I want. I first used angel paper for energon cubes (which I'm sure I posted here but I can't find it) because of how it seems to shimmer when you move around it.

Smoke effect made with cotton wool around wire.

Here are pics of the same piece from slightly different angles so you can see how it catches the light.

From now on are pictures of my first method of energy weapons effects. I'm not doing this any more, it takes way WAY WAY longer than the above and doesn't look as good.

I've used spherical acrylic beads and perspex rods (or sometimes toothpicks). To attach them to the gun, mostly the barrel gauge matches the 2mm, 3mm or 4mm rods diameter, sometimes I needed to enlarge the hole a bit.

The mottled effect was done by adding a very watery coat of a different colour over the previous colour. The water's surface tension causes it to clump up.

Here I've put the last coat on not thick enough to cover what's underneath and done it in a helical pattern.

Making this one was way more trouble than it was worth and I almost gave up. I don't think I'll be making one for this right arm.

I'm not happy with these ones, I think they look too much like flowers.

If you don't mind me asking. What size risers do you have the rear Seekers on?

I just found ones online that are 12"x4 1/2"x5"

    Does that sound right?

Yes, I suppose so. I made that one myself, but those dimensions are similar.

No wait. I don't understand all those numbers. I assume 12" wide and 5" high, but what's the 4 and 1/2" about?
