Holy cow that looks good. It looks so much more solid than the previous pictures made it out to be, and man he looks to be pretty hefty, too. This is just too amazing. 

 

And that's why you don't judge a figure until you see in hand photos.

 

Totally agree. What the hell happened between the box art and this Head? It seems night and day. This production head seems to be the best Iron Hide head I've ever seen.

Well, I judge a figure in many levels. Gray Proto, Paint master, Production figure photos, Video Review, and in person. It's hard to make a purchase decisiion on something this questionable until at least a video review with good lighting is available. In half of these new photos he looks terrible, and in half he looks great. What is this thing?

 

I SO wish I could get past the hip kibble, because everything else looks really good. I can't wait to see if reviews and pics make me decide to give this guy a shot.

I have this guy on pre-order from Ami Ami for $63. I guess I'll go ahead and pay for it and give him a shot. Maybe I'll change my mind once I see some reviews, but he does seem barely passible right now. I really wish FT would announce him next. That would make my decision on whether to get him or not so much easier. I don't really see that happening for a while though.

 

This looks much better than that toy in the 80's. Your like what's this lol. I'm waiting for my shipping notice. The Autobots outnumbered the Deceptions in the show as well. Seems like it's still holding true lol...

 

To be fair, a stock photo is supposed to be a good representation of what we're getting. You can't blame people for being put off by Ironhide's because it definitely wasn't doing him any favours.

Still, I'm happy and relieved that this is looking so great in hand.

 

Looks like someone removed theirs, so maybe it's worth a go if you really can't get past it?

I've said it before but I can't wait to pair him up with Ultra Magnus w/shouting face, those guys will look awesome together!

 

It's crazy how two panels distort the proportions so much, that looks WAY better!

 

oh wow! I dig it. I love him, but no bumper and hip kibble would have made him perfect.

 

What's the big deal with the hip panels? It's never bothered me *shrug* Shame they couldn't fold back to cover his tyre butt.

 

Also it looks like his face is painted a little darker than Bumblebee's, which seems to work wonders for bringing out the angles (then, maybe the angles are just better defined, too)



Seriously, not sure how anyone can look at that shot and not get so damn excited! That's the money shot right there, that's what this line is all about. We're getting the band back together!

 

I actually like the hip panels, mainly because they've made it such without them the pelvis looks a little too narrow. In my mind the hip panels compensate for that narrowness (indeed, a narrowness which was present in Ironhide's original character model).

No Fucking way. That looks so much better. Okay, I'm slightly more stoked now. Such a small thing - I can't believe it made such a huge difference. Wonder what the sides will look like now?

Edit: I'm honestly feeling happy now after seeing that. Unbelievable.

 

I think people are giving the face sculpt a bad rap...just wait until they get it in their hands. It looks just fine to me. It's amazing what they were able to do, considering how awkwardly the animation models are designed.

 

I think I like the other face better. I can't unsee Balok from this one
