Ah here we go folks, only 6 days until Winter WonderFest! We’re sure to see Hound there in some form or another. Maybe finally that jeep mode reveal! And perhaps we’ll get a proper magazine spread in this month’s Figure King at the end of Feb.

I predict Hound will end up being my favourite carbot. Looks to have articulation and fun factor on the level of Sunstreaker and Inferno/Grapple - but unlike those carbots Hound featured prominently in the episodes I had as a kid so I have a huge attachment to him. Love how in the pilot he and Spike were best buds (before Bumblebee stole that role!). I actually preferred Bumblebee in the pilot, filling his role as spy and smallest member without being too cutesy about it. Anyway that’s a whole other topic!

Since MP-44 is so jam-packed with accessories, I imagine nothing will be spared for Hound.

Let’s do an accessory recap? Cage? Key? Busted football? Am I missing anything?

I’m hoping they can get the alt mode to scale with the carbots better than Fanstoys did. Bot mode has things I like better and things that I feel are worse than Willis, but better alt mode scaling would make this a no-brainer upgrade for me.

 

I'm finding myself really excited for a new type of vehicle as well! First official G1 MP jeep, right? I would also love some kind of accessory to represent a hologram, but not sure what could be done there. Or maybe a labcoat  

 

What are the odds of an "up-sized Ravage" as an accessory? Wouldn't that be awesome!

No need for it to even transform, IMO.

 

At these prices it's a good thing we're almost done with the big bots from G1 S1.

By my count all that's left after Hound is Jazz, Trailbreaker and Mirage. Then it's only the cheaper mini-bots.

 

When the US MSRP is announced, that's when this tread will go to shit.

 

You're right, but I'm also sure he'll be about the same as Sunstreaker from Amazon Japan, which I think was around $80 shipped for me. I don't regret a penny of it!  

 

Reflector will cost the same as a seeker or more because it’s three bots.

 

Gonna be some fun times.

 

Let's see. Possible accessories: cage, key, busted football, underwater clear face cover, lab coat?, hologram projecting hands (semi clear blue maybe) or flash projecting effects burst, a paper craft spherical bolder, generic hologram driver, Spike without the hard hat.

The last two options are tricky due to scale, as I've brought up months ago on this thread. Since MP44 is the new gold standard for the MP line, future human figures will most likely follow this scale. However, my guess is that Hound's Jeep mode is a bit on the large end compared to MP44's truck mode (which is ok), but that means the Carly, Spike, and Sparkplug will look like toddlers riding on Hound. Unless they break from the new MP44 human scale and start another just to fit Hound. I hope I'm completely wrong about this. The alternative solution is to just avoid any humanoid figures with Hound.

 

Even more fun when most US posters completely ignore that AJP has it for much much cheaper.

Takara has done a great job of convincing many of you that any price they charge is just fine. Good job Takara.

I expect Hound at US stores like BBTS and TFSource to be in the $130 range, but AJ should have some decent prices for him.

 

If it's decent then no convincing is required.

 

I must have missed the memo in which TT convinced me of anything.

 

I wouldn't mind that price as it would most likely mean he's going to come with a shit ton of accessories. That aside, this guy just looks like a delicious candy that I wanna eat.

 

Is that the "leaked price" from the Collecticon store listing? I don't want to violate any confidences by presenting proof, but I can confirm that the price and MP-46 number are just guesses on the store's part. I think the listing is legitimate and they'll sell the preorder at that price, but it didn't come from any info from Takara
