Could be true , since this side doesnt know much of production on chinese side. Might be us not knowijg this is just another wave , not the reissue.
Whatever the case may be, I appreciate your testing and reporting. Here’s hoping you get a real reissue soon!
Thank you. I was bummed too. My source also , the other side say this is 2nd batch , they thought it is the reissue. At least now I know how much force i can put on and be rough with the figure. The second batch does feel easier to maneuver though , the bad tight tolerances are gone. Sucks about the breakage. And this is not KO , headlight and feet details are shap and clear New : Old :
So, does this mean the news of reissue is dead? Or did they just get a copy from an old batch instead of from the reissue batch?
If no reissue, I already own one copy. Guess I’ll need to go the KO route for spare parts if my official Hound breaks. This is a sad turn of developments
Shame but thanks for sharing @Phamduc - much appreciated even if the hype turned out to be false. For now! A reissue is always still a possibility! A Hound made of the same stuff as Arcee would be pretty sweet! Still I'm ok for now - my original still only has two tiny hairline cracks and no breakage. I was a bit nervous when my two year old twins were fighting over him the other day, though!
Thanks for the update @Phamduc, seems like you were definitely just sent an original run there. Lame. Better ask your supplier what s/he's playing at. Your source says it's second batch, but it was made the week after your own first copy. Maybe your source's source is the source of the problem. Also you say the previous Hounds were made in Vietnam? The TTMall listing had Hound down as being manufactured in China. That's weird. It did seem a little strange for there to be a reissue in production with absolutely no announcement of its upcoming release from any corners. Why would they set up the production facilities again unless they're doing a full run? It's not like these factories are ready to churn out any MP at any time, the factory floor would need totally rearranging for each production line. Logistically it seemed a bit off.
I agree, but I was hoping that they were testing it properly before committing to the full run. I know that would be unusual practice, but TT simply can't afford to do a full run that they aren't totally convinced is solid as a rock. At least I can go back to my barely broken copy and be glad I have such a good looking representation of Hound in my collection.
Welp. This stinks. I guess I either find FT Willis or I just grab a KO at this point. @Phamduc Many thanks regardless for doing what you do, my guy.
There is a reissue of the original deco, but since SO many retailers still have stock of the first release, the only way to conceivably get an actual reissue with rumored fixed materials, is to buy from a retailer that was out of stock and is getting new stock. Example: HLJ was out of stock for over a month. Now, as of writing this, they are getting restocked in a few days. It can be relatively safe to assume that this is reissue stock. Weather this is new production or just old held back stock or if the plastic issues have been solved or not, is another story. That said... STILL waiting for this deco. This is the only way I'll buy this mold.
@Phamduc Thank you so much for sharing your honest experiences and thoughts. I know I'm not alone when I say it's a shame I'll never be able to own this fantastic mold with very little to no QC issues. I look forward to your feedback on Thundercracker. With so many of us taking advantage of Gamestop's $60 off (assuming everything goes smoothly and there's no cancellations), I hope this figure and mold is very well built and can be transformed and posed with no cracking or breakage issues.
2nd batch does not equal reissue. TCP has had stock listed as “2nd batch” for months. I asked Brandon about that and he said it’s still from the first run. I appreciate what you’re trying to do for us all here. It would just be better for all of us if your copy was from the first run. And the date stamps indicate that’s probably the case.
All this recent activity reminded me that my 1st Hound is over a year old now. Both going strong still
