It sure looks real, doesn’t it? It’s actually a digibash done by @chchchch

I think @Shin Densetsu might be onto something here, in terms of what the causative issue is with Hound, once we move beyond the QC issues that resulted in some coming broken right out of the box (I hope the vendors make these unfortunate purchasers whole in terms of getting them a better copy).

I think it might come down to a number of factors in the design choices for this figure:

    1) The relative "flexibility" of the plastic used in the figure allows the use of relatively thinner panels - a more rigid plastic likely has a minimum thickness that can be safely used below which, it just cracks and breaks. You can see this in the pieces of Hound that have variable thicknesses in a given panel, along with the pieces that have a channel or fin in them, which give these pieces extra tensile strength depending on the direction that the thickness/channel/fin run. IMO, the plastic will probably break where there is a transition in the tensile strength of the panel. Maybe flexible panels allow for a tighter tolerances allowance, compared to more rigid pieces?

    2) The tightness of the pins - loose pins give a more floppy feel to the figure. I wonder if a more flexible plastic requires tighter pin tolerances. Tighter pins means more torque to rotate the panel around the pin, and more torque would therefore need to be applied to the plastic panel.

    3) The look of the plastic - the matte finish is a different look, but I wonder if the more flexible plastic allows the matte look moreso than a more rigid plastic. It allows for a softer look to the figure (less rigid, because the light doesn't reflect harshly off of the flat surfaces, and Hound has a lot of flat surfaces), without needing a lot of paint.

I also took a page from @Paco Grande, and for the same reasons - it's cold where I live, so I've typically let figures "warm up" before I handle them.

While I wouldn't say that all of the problems we have seen come down to materials choices (some of them are design ones, like the tailgate flaps, or the head and cannon on a boom), I wonder if TT is trying out new materials to achieve a certain lightness in the figure.

I like MP Hound - he has some elegant transformation choices, like his seats into feet transformation. He minimizes the panel folding that was MP-44. The materials choices I think need to be reexamined. I wouldn't be surprised to see if they try to manufacture him out of more rigid plastics in some pieces,

I haven't received anything either. Looking at some of the comments though, probably better to wait before preordering mps now. Too much money spent for a gamble on qc issues.

That's a marker of the level @chchchch is operating at with his digibashes. They're that good.

What are you doing? You are not supposed to be playing with your toys unless you see it in the instructions or from an all knowing Youtuber!

That's great! This figure made me think of Human Alliance so it is great to see someone make it happen.

i know this is more toon-accurate, but i actually like the fenders higher up to act like shoulder pads. having them lower just looks kinda derpy to me. i had maketoys gundog which allowed both configurations and i always had it raised. ill have to wait til i get my hound in hand before i try it for myself and see how much better it all locks up to see if it’s worth the aesthetic trade off for me

Great catch! I think it still works with the fenders up high, but personally I like them lower as it still looks like a Jeep now and there's not so much going on at head height. Thanks for sharing your discovery!

With the paint scratches being perhaps common with MP-47 Hound, have any of you attempted to find a paint that could be used to touch up paint scratches on his thighs? I'd love to find a matching paint.
