Yup, TT has their share of dud releases - but staying true to the current direction they really knocked it out of the park on this one.

I'm probably a bad person to chime in on this cause I was always going to buy this one LOL. But this is actually going to be the first Hound figure I have ever owned. Along with Wheeljack and Sunstreaker the MP versions are the only interpretations of the characters I have ever had. I am fortunate to have a few co-workers who are into the same things I am, so we spend quite a bit of time blabbing about transformers and other figures, good for killing time but no so much for work LOL. That being said ever since MP-36 there hasn't been any releases that we haven't all purchased, especially with Amazonjpn and their amazing service. And that includes Beast Wars releases. Theres just something about how the characters come alive with these figures. Good times for sure, especially seeing how well Hound was executed. Hopefully there won't be any widespread QC problems so everyone who purchased this one can enjoy it fully.

Toon Gundog hits me right in the 80’s feels with his toon/toy look and chunks of metal feel, looks so good on the shelf. Now if I took dio photos where I needed all sorts of different poses, then obviously this TT version would be needed, but for a shelf, just can’t pay double to replace something that is already so good.

Oke, I was also complaining about the price but it seems it drops a bit, so my interest is coming back, also after seeing these new pictures is helping with that.
Very nice, as a g1 fan finally a new character of season 1 as masterpiece, YESSSS:) :) :)

Anyone else think the windscreen should be able to flip forwards like the real Jeep? Really looks like it can, but then I'm sure we'd have seen some pics if it could.

Hrmm... I’ve never canceled an order with them... but makes me pause verse jumping right in. Not sure I want to keep paying these priaces... especially when I have so many unopened and TT has been doing reissues or updates. Used to have to buy early for FOMO... that seems less of an issue these days.

The description from TT Mall says the front windscreen can fold, so it seems like that’s almost confirmed (barring possible translation issue). :)

Amazon being the big proper company it is... will charge the required duties/fees at point of sale so the package can flow to destination unhindered.

He's looking fantastic. I know I'm super late to the thread and this has probably already been answered - any shots showing scale yet? Particularly in vehicle mode?

Damn, any reservations I had about him with the earlier prototypes are gone! He looks pretty freaking fantastic. I'm glad they fixed his depressed looking face sculpt too.

Happy that I sold my FT Willis back when the sale price was getting a bit silly. o_O

I love the figure... the price kills the deal for me. :(

I get the steadily increasing MP prices... but I'm not sure I see the need to raise the prices so dramatically, when just a few years ago, this would be $60-70. Extra accessories for another $70-80??? :lol

This isn't a criticism to those that are pre-ordering and love this figure; this is the lamentation of a fellow collector who is getting priced out of the hobby. It should matter to everyone! If less collectors can afford these products, what do you think will happen to the current prices? :D

I remember a time when Sony listed the PS3 for $600. They knew about incoming shock from fans, but they devised a clever solution: Get another job to afford this!

But at least Sony works to lower prices over the lifespan of a gaming console; TakaraTomy do not.

    Yeah... That's not good.

Neither is the price. My pre-order price (this AM) came to 14790Y (~$136.72!!) ! That....hurts. I won't drone on and on, but I'm a little numb, trying to comprehend paying that much for something similar to the carbots I've already got.

It's my last T-T Masterpiece, and I really hope I can keep my pre-order. Cancelled MP-44 order at the same time; Otherwise, I'd probably forget and be bankrupted by that one.

Every one of my students sees my collection daily. They see it grow every time I get a package in the mail. They often see me open a box on my break. Because I teach out of my apartment. Haha.

“Teacher sure is into Gundam.” They couldn’t care less lol

All we have is a picture of him next to Ironhide. If you have a version of that mold you could use the relative measurements to estimate the size of Hound's vehicle mode.
