another carbot at last "but" i sold my fanstoys willis and looking at this i'm not sure i should have really need to see more of takara's but i might actually rebuy fanstoys version when they release it again soon

a better example would be the white face on fanstoys willis i agree though , what is it with takara and facesculpts ? they have screwed up a couple:)

Well, he looks as good as you would expect. This was rumored for a long time now. Still, what a great surprise. And finally some green to add to the Autobot ranks as has been noted earlier in the thread.

Truly a wonderfest this year. I want to see the vehicle mode and his gimmicks.

I actually don't mind the apparatus on top of the torso. The backpack otherwise looks fairly clean from the pics we have seen. And I think it is way to early to comment on the strength of the joints

Definitely. There is WAY to much red and yellow right now

    Yeah, I hear that.
For me personally it's never even been a consideration to have a 3rd party stand in for an official, at all.

If a TT version exists, then THATS the definitive version, regardless of whatever shortcomings or "I wish they did that differently" the figure has.

    But that's just me.

Grapples yes would pop out easily , probably due to tolerances from remolding. Unless your doing something crazy Inferno/ Artfire are pretty snug.

I really like this face sculpt. I like it way better than that on Willis or Gundog. To each, his own, I guess...

From what I remember there were a few issues with grapple upon release, but it wasn’t exactly what I’d call commonplace. And I’ve heard nothing but praise for inferno from anyone who preferred him aesthetically.

Yep the face sculpt is perfect here, and so was Sunstreaker's.

Hmm, they didn't chrome his bumper, they probably will chrome the other stuff.

    Ehhhh...

He looks good for the most part. The only bits I really don't like are the square below-the-knee swivel cuts, which look very ugly and break up the sculpt, and all the junk behind his head. I suppose the latter is a non-issue if you display your TFs up high, but my current MP display is around desk/table height, so I'll probably still be able to see it even from the front.

Moreover though, I'm just not sure this is different enough to replace FT Willis. If you don't have that figure, then this seems like a no-brainer, but with the rising costs of official TT Masterpiece figures, this guy looks awfully similar to Willis. I also prefer the winch be silver-or-chromed, so that's a bit of a tick against this guy (though TT might change that later on).

If by some miracle Hound retails at $80 USD or less, I might get him. But $100+ for a carbot is a lot.

Looking at the animation model, I wonder if there’s an autobot logo under the head assembly so it’s visible in alt. mode and not in bot mode.
