The cover reminds me too much of movie best hound.

    I'm ready thought.

Damn Takara, way to go and make a figure so impressive that I want to buy it even with no real connection to the character.

I don't know if other people are impressed by it, but the way the arms kind of make a mock engine when he's a Jeep is cool AF to me. One thing I really love about these newer MP figures is how expressive they are. They feel like the character so much more now, both with the face options and the posability.

I'm not a fan of MP toys, but I like to see what they come with, and the inclusion of Nobody is nice.

Well, there\'s a switch: they put the huge backpack on the bottom of the alt mode this time! ;)

    That\'s a no for me.

Pretty excited! Soon as the AJ preorder goes live we'll see what the best cost will be. I can't wait, he's always been one of my favorites and when I get all of this year's MPs lined up on the shelf, it'll be so beautiful and such a poignant reminder of my childhood!

They are. This is probably down to Mitsubishi having licensed the Jeep themselves back in the day, and that license having expired, therefore they have no rights to sign a deal with Takara for something they don't own.

Still I believe this is the first time the original toy can't be replicated/updated exactly from the way it was first marketed.

There are panel lines on his back wheels. Do those things open up as part of the transformation?

I'm very impressed with how much torso and legs are crammed somewhere in that very small and open Jeep mode.

The canopy is a nice surprise and adds some symmetry to another Hound that uses a canopy as a shield.

Nice that it can apparently store on his back too.

For car enthusiasts, is this the same model that the original toy was based on aside from a change in company name (similar to how the dastuns were branded as nissans)?

This is the first of the super Floro Dery-styled MPs that I think looks great. Helps that there’s no fake chest.

I believe so. Now the question is, will they call it a J59 on the box? "Mitsubishi J59" is a no-go, but surely "J59" will be acceptable.
