Did some digging in the work computers last night and found the listing for the new MP Grimlock. I believe this is a completely different item number from the original release, which I've looked up in the past. It is also listed as "active status," whereas the old version was marked as "discontinued" and marked down in price.

The tentative price looks to be $59.99. Item number is 500256.

I told myself I'd stick to the Ark and Nemesis crews only for my masterpiece collection, but 60 bucks is a friggin' amazing deal for Grimlock, so maybe I'll expand my criteria to all season 1 characters... so then I might consider Scoria and Quakewave and...

Anyone else feel like googling pictures of rabbit holes?

If this is true, I'm in. I have two of the original releases but it would be nice to have a third to display opened in Dino mode.

I'm all for it. I was so close to jumping on that Japanese reissue, but I'm happily going to buy this.

    Damn!!

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. I'm crossing my fingers that price sticks. Even if TRU inflates the price to $70, it's still a damn good bargain.

I was never in the "this will be $100+" club, but I was (and honestly still am) expecting seeker price for Grimlock. If TRU sells Grimlock for $60, there's no way the MP cars will cost $60 individually.

I totally forgot about that. Not sure I'm willing to go through the hoops I went though to get Soundwave for Grimlock here. My closest TRU is fifty miles away and I only got Soundwave after an employee called another TRU 50 more miles away. Maybe they'll make these easier to find though, since Grimlock will be in the movie and they'll want to sell more...

I'll buy one and compare it to my original Takara release. If its just as good, buh bye Takara Grimmy.

I thought he would be 70 or 80, about the price of a hasbro MP seeker. $60 is a great price and hopefully it ends up being sold at that price. i hope that everyone who wants him will be able to get him this time around.

Great for those that never got the figure the first time.

But man that price has to hurt for those people that went for the costly Takara reissue.

The A8734 is a new SKU# So yeah, this would be for the new one. And $60....I tried to tell people who insisted he'd be the same price as Soundwave was, he would likely be around the same price as he was first time. He's bigger, but Soundwave and YOH Prime came with well more stuff....SW 5 cassette buddies, and Prime a full trailer....

This Grimlock may not see the horror of usual MP releases, since it's been released a thousand times by Takara, and once already at TRU by Hasbro....hopefully, this will be an easy buy....not getting my hopes up one bit however, but trying to hope for the best. I did at least hold the original Hasbro Grimlock in my hands at my TRU once.
