"Tell me about it. Look!"
Beautiful shots man!
Thanks, guys! Couple more... do check out the review (link in my sig) if you get chance.
MP cheeter nice to fit classic beast wars. It looking awesome!
Great review, my intro in to Transformers probably started around the late G2 era. So all I had where strange repaints and whatever tapes I could rent at the local arrow video, Webworld and the Movie are the most prominent memories. Then all of a sudden I'm flicking through an Argos catalogue and I happen across a Rhinoceros with obvious panel lines and a rat with pins in it. Are Transformers back? Yes! And a there was a kickass cartoon to boot, Beast Wars isn't my first Transformers series but it like my G1 like it is for so many others. I don't really know who's who around here but I get your a G1 guy and your review said a lot of things that could bring the G1ers and the Beastie Boys together in harmony Pax Cybertonia style yew!
Thanks dude! Yeah, I am a big G1 fan, no doubt, but I love Beast Wars too, so I'd love it if there was a bit more harmony about the whole thing. That's really nice of you to say.
Nice article Sixo and of course great images, thanks! On the wider issue of the fandom and BW place in it, I was one of those naysayers at the time of Beast Wars release. I was almost 18 when Beast Wars came out so it's no surprise that I'd long since moved on from Transformers, having found G2 too garish for my liking (ah the early 90's and it's love affair with neon). It was not until I returned to the hobby some 10 years later upon chancing on RID Optimus Primal during an idol glance around Toymaster that I found a thriving online community of TF fans, and within that....fans of the bad stuff.. the sacrilege and blasphemy that was the Beast Era....obviously I was both disgusted and fascinated by it all and was convinced to give the TV show a try. I loved it, it totally won me over with it's charm, characters and plot. It was for kids sure but far more grown up than anything on screen G1 had to offer, I even fell in love with the designs and the once abhorrent alt-modes. I have been a firm fan ever since. I know there are still many who can't stand it, which is fine, but I really don't understand those that don't understand or value it place in the mythology and franchise or feel it is unworthy of 'MP spots'. If any one series outside of G1 deserves MP figures it's Beast Wars and seeing them in the MP line suggests the lines is healthy enough to support more for everyone!
Anyway onto the figure itself you pretty much nail a lot of what I love about the figure. The amount of character and personality they have managed to infuse both modes with it sublime. I think I too mentioned his "unprecedented range of emotive ability" at some point on these boards, it's amazing what they've done with his facial expressions. In addition to that he's a gorgeous looking fantastically well painted and articulated action figure, for me he is the complete package.
Don't have a Transmetal Megatron unfortunately, but damn do they still look good together. Do it!
Oh for an MP BW Megatron, the BWR one is excellent but just imagine what they can/will do with MP engineering and finish.
So i broke the right arm panel...first transformation. I swear i was being careful and im thinking it might even have already been broken. The piece looked almost warped and i couldnt find the missing chunk of the joint.
Anyone else have problems with the forearm panel joints? The orange ones underneath the forearms that connect to just a small pin?
Its not the most expensive figure so i ordered a second one but im scared it will happen again. TT are giving me more headaches lately than any 3P and its disappointing me...
Oh no! That sucks. I found those joints are quite worrying myself the first few times I transformed him, I was very careful not to force them and really concerned about how thin and fragile they look. Since then I've become more familiar with them and am more confident but they are certainly one of the least impressive bits of engineering on this figure. It does sound like you first one had a defect, be super careful the replacement! My fingers are crossed for you!
Test shot with 2 extra pieces that weren't included in the actual release. The larger ring piece looks like it's meant to go on Cheetor's beast mode fore leg with the peg hole.

Whelp, that just confirms it. These mystery accessories do exist!
Now the big question, were they cut entirely, or being saved for a later release?
I'm guessing they'll be saved for a later release / repaint, as an extra incentive to buy a mold many people will now already own. It's what Takara often does to make repaints more attractive (for example Wheeljack's Immobilizer with Exhaust, Ultra Magnus's goggles face with Delta Magnus, Bumblebee's jetpack with G2 Bumblebee, Track's toys style gun with Road Rage).
I'm hoping we get a Beast Wars accessory pack after a few more releases. A tiny com-link strap definitely isn't enough of an incentive to sway me to buy a repaint I'm otherwise not interested in.
That little one looks like the com link from The Web.
Interesting. Thanks for posting. We will likely see them at some point if they reached this stage.
It makes me wonder and I hadn't thought about this before. Would Shadow Panther make more sense as a Cheetor or Tigatron repaint? Or neither with some of his own molding?
We are still feeling our way through this Masterpiece Universe!
oh no not again....
The accessory pieces in question:
They are indeed from Season 1, Episode 3
Looks like some molding changes between the upper parts of the front Cheetah legs as well. Originally they would have accommodated the larger piece since it has a small tab on the inside.
Yikes!Kind of a cheap move, including something with the wrong toy, just to get people to by something they otherwise wouldn't want.
Yeah, if these do get released, they better be in an accessory pack or I won't get them. I don't have the cash to buy whole MPs just for single accessories.
