So after my cartoon-accurate Masterpiece Bluestreak last year I've got a couple of things in the pipeline (including a cartoon-accurate MP Wheeljack, once he shows up). In the mean-time I thought I'd use my 3rd MP Bumblebee to have a go at repainting.

Naturally I'm planning on going with the lighter, more cartoon-accurate canary yellow. Then I had the crazy thought of dressing him up all comic-accurate (never read the comics but I'm a fan of the look).

If I do think that I'm thinking white eyes, yellow face, yellow shoulder pauldrons, yellow shins, and maybe leaving everything that's 'comic-blue' as black, to save painting parts that are just going to rub.

So I need your guys help in deciding:

I'm off to order some yellow paint in any case!

You've got until the moment I need to paint his shoulders, face and shins to vote. Oh yeah, I'll probably try sharpening up his horns a little bit too.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I voted cartoon colors, but either will look very cool.

    Heh I thought so too

Cartoon colours is winning so far anyway, although...

Thanks! Fixed the pic, now people can actually see what's versus what.

Gads, I never noticed until now how much the cartoon Bumblebee looks like Bobby Hill.

    Go cartoon.

Comic! And I think you should go with the comic blue, like they did with Grimlock.

Comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic, comic.

There, that should have outvoted all the "cartoon" votes. :)

Definitely go comic, though - MP-21 is already cartoon-accurate, so if you go for cartoon accuracy it will just be a change in the shade of yellow. I've been meaning to pay a customiser to paint an MP 'Bee in comic colours, so I welcome you being a guinea pig with yours. :)

I think this is the first MP Bumblebee custom I've seen, unless I missed one. Amazing how many fewer MP customs there are of a mold when there's no KO of it haha.

    Yeah that's a good point.

Really not impressed with KOs myself after getting a KO MP-14 for customising. Already bought another genuine MP-20 for a cartoon-accurate version, and am going to get a genuine MP-19 for my next planned custom:

Just deciding what to get started on first! Anyway, will be stripping Bumblebee's paint very soon. Still time to cast your votes :)

As an aside: anyone know a good colour match for MP-8X's blue? (just in case the dark horse wins this election!)

    Bumble: DO THE COMIC COLORS!
I am so excited by that prospect!!!

I'm really hoping that Takara surprises us and releases a "comic colors" Bee akin to the MP-8X Grimlock. But until that day, I'll follow your thread, and consider making my own.

P.S. looks like I'll be doing both a comic version and a cartoon version. Snagged another Bumblebee from Anime Export

If anyone can provide me with some reference images from the G1 comics that'd be great :)
