I'm torn about it, since it's available for Pre-Order at a pretty good price ($135 @ BBTS)...

How do others feel about the mold and/or about this deco?

It's a great price if you're looking to own a Takara version of the mold. Great colors too. But watch out for the stiff leg ratchets as evidenced by some of the owners in this thread. I was one of them. They have a tendency to break.

It's a good idea to invest in a TRU Rodimus in the event that you need to harvest some replacement parts from it, particularly the leg ratchets.

Even with the leg issues, yay on MP-9B, especially at the price it's at right now. If you ever wanted one, now's a great time to pick it up for a helluva lot less than what you would've had to pay when it first came out.

Damn. I wish they would reissue the 09 v2 for that price.

Only you can decide if the toy is worth getting or not (personally I don't get/like the deco)- but if it interests you, that's a fantastic price for it.

I'm going to have to be the 1st to say Nay. MP Rodimus has too many issues. And to be honest, I'm not too big on repaints either. I say move past it. There's much more out there worth spending money on.

I would ask how you feel about the character.
I purchased it at full price and I wish I hadn't; I'm not sure I would pay 135 for it. Not due to QC issues, but because the features and engineering don't really "do" it for me. I found the conversion to be a pain because a lot of loose panels and such, and the difference between modes(Before/After becoming leader) to be almost insignificant.
If Hot Rod/Rodimus are a character you like, then it could be worth it for you. If you're ogling the awesome color palette used, save your money.

I jumped on it at $135, and had been considering it for a while at $169. For me at $135 it was an instabuy.

As something that used to be 200, I can see why you would think it's a bargain. Still, I don't consider it worth your money to buy a repaint that drastically changes Rodimus.

Since he's not really cannon to anything, he's more or less a "Meh" MP to me.

He's a nice deco of a toy most will arguably say was one of the worst MP's of all time.

Would I buy him? sure. But do I really need him? no, not really.

I'm a hardcore Rodimus collector and I held off on getting it because of the price. The mold is good (I didn't have any real issues with the US or JP versions) and the black colors are dead sexy. At this price, I jumped on it like a fat kid on cake. You should too.

For those of you to say go for it, I dare you to go and have a look at the feedback thread for this figure.

Pretty much the entire run has knee ratchets that break on movement.

Even at 135 USD I don't feel like getting a toy that's a 100 percent sure to break once I move the legs, let alone transform it.

Deco and all aside, do those of you who recommend it know about this?

I own three now and have never had an issue. So yeah, I still recommend it.

I considered it, but now isn't the right time as I just bought a set of yellow giant and Silas breakdown. I have a feeling the price is just gonna stay that way. I don't believe that these sale prices will end on Monday but maybe I'm wrong. One day I'd like to buy this, but Rodimus isn't that great of a character to me.

Thanks for the replies, all. In all likelihood, I'll probably end up getting Sideswipe and [hopefully] Soundwave before I end up investing in a Rodimus, and if I do I might end up going for his original colors, but this thread has been quite worthwhile for me.
