They should release Dinobot in all the colors and faces.

 

Especially BW Grimlock. Come on Hasbro! Pulse exclusive!

 

I'm sort of surprised they haven't done Beast Wars Grimlock yet. I know he wasn't 'a thing' in Japan, but I did notice the other day that the original toy features in MP-8 Grimlock's instruction booklet in the little gallery of past Grimlocks, so he is 'a thing' to some extent over there. Personally i see repaints as a good thing, they help keep costs down. Using the lack of repaints as an 'excuse' for rising prices seems a bit backwards to me, TT could do them if they wanted to and they will.

 

Except the market for a $250+ odd repaint is probably not very large and may not worth the trouble of producing

 

Well TT made a rod for their own back with that price point.

 

Repaints ,don't do you any good if people don't buy them. At best they end up as Mall exclusives, making them even more expensive.

 

I am hoping that we’ll see toy versions of some of BW MP’s next year. I would love to see a MP32+ Primal with proper textured furr for instance.

I mean it 'could' happen but will it? That's some extensive remoulding for a toy redeco, plus MP-38 already has a more toy accurate deco. I just don't see it happening myself.

 

Man and he would look so good too! The mold fits him very well, he just needs new heads.

AFAIK theyve already reissued dinobot. it was released last may. they didnt fix anyting but they just slapped a taktom 35th anniv sticker

 

That's from Hasbro Asia. Different from a TakTom release. Yeah it gets confusing, but Taktom != Hasbro Asia.

 

This particular reissue is from the exact same factory if that makes a difference for you. I only purchase MPMs from Takara from Japanese retailers myself, so I get where you’re coming from. It’s just this particular release is quite literally the same. Umm there’s a tiny physical 35th Anniversary sticker put on the new release. So that’s different.

 

It's not about the factory. Of course they came from the same factory. A TT reissue would mean I would be able to order from AJP. Since I sold off my first one for a profit, buying another one from AJP would mean that I will be getting it for quite a hefty discount.

I don’t see it happening either, for the same reason that I don't see MP Leo Convoy getting remolding with fur texture. In the anime and OVA both convoys are flat, non-detail, featureless surfaces, in order to stay true to the cultural shift that Japan has taken, which is animation accuracy. So until TT does it once, it would be a super low, almost no chance of that happening, unfortunately.

 

Sigh, I know. But I gotta throw out my hopes into the universe right?

Kind of off topic but related: I bought MP-38 recently from Nippon Yassan to go with this figure. It took them two weeks to ship it out! I’m not really in a hurry but I thought I would warn people. They have gotten very slow at shipping lately. Same with BBTS from what I’ve heard.

I didn’t want this guy to be lonely on my shelf.
