Bring him on already!
Yea, that’s something that I’ve always wondered about, and then in release chronology car robots came out before beast wars returns, though that separation is a little less jarring in my opinion
Have we seen any pics of the beast mode from the back?
It can be argued that they didn't actually pull it off so well, since after almost three continuous years of the previous Beast Wars series', Metals didn't do as well for Takara, which likely was one of the reasons why they chose to take a different approach than Hasbro for the next series when they developed Car Robots instead.
Maybe he means hubcap and bumblejumper? Or maybe something from after the show like the triggerbots/cons.
So I’m more than likely picking this guy up. The bot mode is just way too regal looking to pass up, just screams the essence of leader to me. However, if I do have 1 nitpick about it, it would be the position of the lion mane shoulder guard. I’m hoping it can sit just a tad lower. I know it’s high and prominent in the show, but I think these pics have it just a bit too high. Like I said, minor off-put, but not enough to keep me away.
Although now I’m really mad for passing on mp-38, especially when he was being discounted last Christmas season so much. I should’ve sprung for him had I known this was coming. But I figured he was a one off repaint and 32 would be plenty to of Primal for me *sigh* oh how wrong I was.
Back on topic: MP Flash Lio Convoy when? I have the original and want an update so bad.
Gotta wait on it , still waiting for that Grimlock repaint from dinobot .
I've been looking into this a little myself - AFAIK, BW II and BW Neo, were set in different locations (and possibly different times, due to all the whacky time travel shenanigans in Transformers ) and starring different casts.
So I imagine it as Season 1 of BW finishes, and a big transition card comes up:
"Meanwhile, elsewhere in space and time..."
and they then follow the adventures of an intrepid kitty bot followed by... I dunno a mammoth or something.
And then at the end of both of those series, another transition card comes up
"We now return to our intrepid adventurers in Earths prehistoric past..." and they go into Season 2.
A little bit of video footage because why not?
If there's kibble on the back of the Lion mode, that's okay because that was in the anime.
I'm not joking, it was.
I may be speaking out of turn but this may just seem weird from a western perspective. Don't franchises like Gundam or Macross have multiple separate or tangent continuities that are visited/revisited over and over? I suspect it wasn't seen as jarring for Japanese fans as we might expect. Although by the time they got around to Beast Machines they'd definitely left it WAY too late.
Its the coolest looking Convoy the MP has in the lineup so far. Sorry G1'rs
Optimus Primal is technically a Convoy too, so you'll have to apologize to the BW-fans as well
I don't think they even did that, aside from the brief explanation included with the pack-in material of the first BWII toys, the first season ends with the same "to be continued?" ending and the next show just starts up after that.
They do, and stuff like the Sentai shows have a new story and cast almost annually, so viewers are used to it.
It's really not all that different than say going from RID to Cyberverse was for us, just on a shorter schedule since in Japan they don't really do things like months of reruns, the new shows just start up and run their course til the end with the occasional clip show tossed in to fill time and give the animators a break (as many weekly Japanese animated shows are actually produced only a few weeks in advance if that).
I wounder when or if they'll make MP BW Galvatron?
Also I wounder what accessories Lio Convoy will come with.
Extended tail whip
Lion face guns for robot mode
There's a couple more IIRC that I think I vaguely remember from the anime.
Don't for the "That one thing form that one episode" accessory. I'v never seen all of BW2 so I don't know what it could be.
I don’t think Lio Convoy had a tail whip? Lio Junior used his tail as a weapon but that was more like a hand-held claw on a rod than a whip.
Here's some fun news: It seems that an articulated figurine of Artemis will be included
And yes, that's from Figure Oh so expect more pictures coming soon!
