Good gravy, that beast mode. I thought Dinobot was a bit panelly, but this guy's beast mode is a whole new level of panelly.

Robot mode looks cool. Going to pass on this though. No doubt he'll be close to 400 dollars.

BW 2 Lio Convoy Masterpiece is a keeper! He'll be staying in bot mode forever...

 

I'll get it because I've had the original for 20 years now and despite its clunkyness it's had a place in my heart as the first Internet Purchase from Japan I ever made. I HOPE it's priced more around Primal's level than TT's current We Will We Will Gouge You! Prices (wishful thinking) but I can admit I'd rather they did Rhinox, Ratrap, Inferno or Tigertron before veering into BWII. I wasn't a fan of much of the cartoon even though I had pretty much he whole Toyline. Stampy and Bump stayed on my desk at work right up to retirement.

MP Big Convoy would be a sight to see though.

 

I've got a few other collections (Zoids, Gundam, Star Wars, etc) going on. And the way MP Beast Wars seems to be going, it looks like it's just getting started.

There are almost definitely going to be repaints of this guy. I think I'll also wait for a version that appeals to me more than the 'vanilla' deco, especially considering how much these things cost.

Anyway, much as I appreciate Takara going cartoon accurate, deco- wise, I hope they'll one day remold MP Lio Convoy too look more 'natural' in lion mode (ie, such as having 'fur' like MP Cheetor or the original toy (which is where my Lio Convoy nostalgia stems from)).

 

I was thinking about how they would do the lion heads when 38 came out. Because in lion mode it’s an organic lion. But in botnmode the lion head becomes very angular and robotic.

I can’t believe they pulled it off!!!!
