Don't forget that they've unvealed the Cybertruck in November 2019...isn't this the exact month and year the Bladerunner future was set up?
Supposedly Elon Musk had passed away a long time ago, the one who did the unveiling was a .... Replicant. That's why he was able to crack bulletproof glasses!!!
It does look better in these colors, possibly because the scheme helps mute some of the odd choices. It's also possible that while, a decent female figure, it's not an ideal Arcee based on the 30-some odd years of reference. It's a lot like the MMC mold, I have no desire to own it as Arcee, in the concept color scheme though, I will probably pick up a copy because it helps make it look less like an attempt at Arcee.
It's not that imho, it's the fact that not Arcee looks different enough from G1 Arcee to be it's own separate character. I think you hit the nail on the head with this one, since she doesn't have an official mold, using this not Arcee works because not Arcee is different enough from G1 Arcee to be a separate character all together.
Same on this. If the chest is a mistransformation then fine I can get over that. But the rubbish head and backpack are so glaring that swapping out my fanstoys for this isn't worth it at all. I swapped Willis for MP47 without a second thought as well lol.
Damn, i love these colors too!!! Me too. I have to have all 3 of them (FT / OM / Tak), and Nicee too, and if XTB ever makes it, well, they will be joining the team too. Only one that got sold / left out is the Toyworld / Zeta one, that one just didnt work for me.
The sculpt on this blows all of the 3Ps out of the water, Takara always has the best people working on sculpt, and its hilarious how blatant the stiff Autocad line-by-line sculpt of the third party work is when compared to this Arcee's aesthetical excellence. But that transformation is crap, no amount of good sculpt-work will make me interested in a MP toy with a backpack that massive. I know Arcee is a very cheaty and hard to get right design from the 80s film but still no thank you. I would've been fine with liberties taken elsewhere on the body if it spared us something that tacky on her back.
Actually azalea has a better headsculpt. I think that sculpt simply is not final. Or... maybe I am REALLY hoping so.
Azalea's face looks perfect in some angles, and really off in others. Part of the problem is that animated Arcee has very "delicate" facial features, and the animation could cheat and thin out or downplay her nose at certain angles. Not possible to do with a physical 3D object, so it's hard to get a perfect match.
I'll be watching how LioConvoy, black Convoy, and Tigatron turn out. If they're the same sort of QC disaster as Hound, no way. Takara needs to come out and say they're changing factories or something because this eastern "save face at all costs" bit they're doing isn't helping.
1. It's not just the Tak, there's the Has part of the HasTak. 2. They don't need to do any face saving, their customers are already doing that for them. And don't forget Jeff Bezos.
Not sure what you can expect Hasbro to do. Takara handles the Masterpiece line as it's their baby, and, from Hasbro's POV, every other Transformers product that actually has a Hasbro logo on it isn't falling apart or cracking just from looking at it wrong like MP Hound.
They share the same factories, I believe. They are close business partners after all. The move to Vietnam, new QC procese, etc could be driven by the need to consolidate manufacturing, etc to get better prices. Higher volume usually means better prices from the factories.
