Well, I've said my piece on it. It's all subjective to what we all want and that is different things. I'm not going to get this and after buying so many MP G1 transformers from Takara and missing out of Fanstoys insecticons because I was a Takara loyalist and thought they'd make them, it really does feel like an old friend let me down. Ah well, that's how it be sometimes. Carry on with the thread!
I didn't say that the inconsistencies are always the case, but that the idealizations of the 2D art sometimes require sacrifices in the 3D representations. For Arcee, we're talking about a design that cheats to holy hell in her animation design, with very little of her robot and vehicle mode able to be reconciled. You can't have it both ways.
It's a case by case basis, they pretty much pulled Inferno and Grapple off perfectly but their design allowed for that. Same with Hound, they had to take some different approaches but they pretty much nailed him. Other characters all the shifting you do has to go somewhere or will require a "cheat", Maybe making a part bigger or smaller or even slightly placed differently than what it should be.
Ditto. I wish there was some way for her to slide that piece up about a half inch... and I'm not crazy about that overly narrow face. I looked at BBTS and with tax and shipping, they have the price at $167. Geez... I paid $95 for Rouge, who looks vastly superior in bot mode. I'll probably wait for the initial wave with reviews to come out before making a decision on this. After Prime's exploding knees and Hound's cracking with zero acknowledgement from TT, I just can't trust them to produce a product worthy of the name "masterpiece."
related PSA: Prime doesn’t have exploding knees. The only thing blowing up is this factoid probably perpetuated by ppl who don’t actually own the figure. The ratchet stops working but the knee still functions. Hear it from the knee itself.
Wow, that car mode is perfection! And I gotta say the straight on front and side profile bot mode pics make her look exceptional. I still think the upper chest slope looks too flat...or her collar is too long, but those seem so minor to me now. I think Arcee here is going to be like BB V2, or Hot Rod where photos seem to exaggerate some things, but when you can hold the actual three dimensional product, some of those odd proportions disappear.
The different poses do nothing to cover up that sagging chest. A "straight on image" that does not cover up the sagging chest. I hope they see your comment so you can get a free figure
I'm so bummed. For me this figure looks fantastic, huge backpack and all, but for that strange, strange chest. Makes me sad to see it so close to what I've wanted. (IMO, I don't speak for anyone else, etc. etc.)
its like they got most of the way there and just gave up and the chest like "eh, good enough. they'll buy it"
They seriously need to fix that chest piece. Ruins the entire figure. For that fuckin price? I don't think so!
Hold on hold on hold on, when was it established she isnt based off her cartoon appearance? Genuine question because I thought the whole point of all the new MPs was that they look exactly like the cartoon to the detriment of price, blandness etc? Why would that now not be the case and why would they redesign? Colour me confused.
Please, Amazon!!! Put up the link for preorder so I can place my order and avoid reading the same tired complaints over and over!
See, now this is the kind of comment that just comes off as entitled and... well to be polite I'll simply say it makes you sound like a jerk. In one breath you're being insulting to everybody who has a complaint (it's their opinion, just like the complaints being "tired" is yours) and trying to put yourself above them.
