Just a quick review for the minute as I on my way to work. Ill start with the good points, the paint on mine is ok. Not perfect as you can see the black is a little bit patchy but it is far from the horror stories ive heard with MP12.

The only bad points are the fact his gun is unpainted and the fact he is not cartoon accurate but these are nit picking really. I love this mold and Red Alert really looks amazing in person.

I think he looks better than Sideswipe. Hopefully we get a Hasbro version someday with a black head...

 

I can deal with the black being a little bit off, but the white looks immaculate on yours. so that's a huge step forward with what's going on with the factory this mold is at. This really does looks absolutely awesome.Hopefully I can get my hands on this for a christmas present to myself soon-ish,  !

Not bad. Assuming things go similarly to what happened with Sideswipe, I might wait until a few of them are returned to BBTS due to paint errors. Maybe I can score one at a reduced price.

looks awesome! I think i will always prefer sideswipe for his lack of fake wheels and extra weapons, but cancelling Red for the new omega supreme was still pretty painful.

 

He looks awesome. This is what my G1 Red Alert looked like to me as a kid!

I will be getting Red Alert but I want Sideswipe first.

 

If I buy this I'm going to be very tempted to repaint those blue parts on his legs. I don't like it. Otherwise I like this better than Sideswipe.

 

Any of the same paint inconsistencies as Sideswipe? Or the badly matched up plastic colors?

 

No none of them. The paint on mine (apart from the black in car mode) is perfect. All the colours match up fine.

 

Got mine today. I was lucky with my Sideswipe and didn't really have any paint problems but my Red Alert is considerably more sloppy.

Toy is still great but I think Sideswipe looks better. The new shoulders were a nice surprise as I hadn't even noticed them in photos. Having the head in red unfortunately makes it look like he's always crying due to the way the eyes are formed. Sideswipe's black head plastic made it hard to see the blue strips running down the sides of his checks but it's way more pronounced on Red Alert.

The new light bar is fine, the guns can plug on top of it if you really want to. He also comes with CIRCUIT TROUBLE:

In conclusion, Sideswipe is better but it's a great toy and Takara's rejuvenated Masterpiece line continues to reign supreme. If you're upset about the price or size or whatever I hear there are some Beast Hunter Kreos coming out soon that you'll love.

EDIT: I ordered mine from RobotKingdom and it came with the special coin thing.

Yep, I hate that price always hijacks these topics.  

Pretty much why I like the wheels there! Although, I'm surprised Takara went for cartoon accuracy that hard and missed on the legs. Not a deal breaker but I'm surprised.

 

Bens just upload his video review and his had mold issues as well it seems that takara is having lots of QC problems, is sad to see this the figures are not cheap
