if everything from mp-10 is suppossed to be in scale, why did we get a spike figure that is way out of scale... hes too small for sideswipe, and even too small to fit in the alternity line. so whats the deal ?

There is no such thing as "Scale" in Transformers.
the sooner you accept that, the sooner you can quit seeing a psychiatrist.

If they made him bigger, he wouldn't be able to fit inside MP-10's vehicle mode without making compromises to the Optimus figure.

This right here. A small Spike is much, much better then Optimus not being as good as he is.
MP09-14 are all in scale in robot mode. MP08 also is much better with them then the earlier MPs.

I prefer to think of him as "Spike in 1984 before a growth spurt", and maybe some future release will come with Sparkplug, or adult Spike, and standardize that as human size for any potential MP Nebulon sidekicks. Sounds good in my head :/

The robot modes are supposed to be in rough scale from the charts for the cartoon. Vehicle modes fall where the may, and Spike is really just a bonus that doesn't obey that intention.

He was being sarcastic, as scale "issues" have been there since Diaclone (or even pre-Diaclone)

And yes, if you want to put any "scale" on the MP line, then ONLY the robot modes of MP9 - MP14 are "in scale". Try getting a boombox in scale with a fighter jet, if you disagree. Spike is an... accessory. Just like the Megatron pistol accessories.

Yeah MP alt mode scale varies quite a bit, no figure would scale with everything.

But I will repeat my desire for a Human Alliance line-up of articulated G1 humans to stand among my MP display :)

i think they just made him the size of the figures that came with the mp seekers, dr arkville, but hes not to scale

its funny I keep the WST figures in alt mode in front of my Mp/classics mix collection and the spike figure is closest to scale with them than any other line. (yes i know hes big, I said closest)

from motortrend magazine the hiegt of the spoiler is up to his waist.

you can see WST is closest to his waist LOL.

But like everyone else said Dont do it, you will pull out your hair trying!
