Got him in yesterday, my two cents follow:

I know I'm late to the party on this guy, but I received him today in my POL shipment and wow, what an impressing figure. I own around 12 third party figures and this guy EASILY reigns supreme as my favorite. He's imposing in bot mode and (dare I say) fun in tank mode. His transformation is complex, yet not overly complicated just for the sake of complication. And his face sculpt is amazing. While he doesn't have light piping, the color and reflectiveness of the eyes help them to catch the light just right and give this... twinkling/glaring aspect that I just can't articulate here.

And I might be in the minority, but I love his tank mode. I think because it's so different from the standard tanks we always get. Most tank-bots turn into some nondescript boxy tank. Either a variation of a real life tank or the H design. Spartan throws all of that out and gives us something refreshingly different and a fun homage to Metal Slug that doesn't take away front he figure at all (IMO).

Long story short: 10/10, go get this guy or Turmoil now while you still can.

 

Just ordered this dude for myself and might get Commotus as well if I like him a lot. By all accounts this dude seems pretty awesome!

 

So apparently Impactor's started selling out at various places already while I wasn't paying attention. Guess I need to push this to the front of the third party "to-do" list.

 

Anyone know what the yellow piece thats not the hand is in the pic below? It doesn't seem to mention it in the instructions and i'm not even sure what to search for in this thread to try and find out.

 

It pegs in either side of either forearm and is used to keep the arms in place a little better in alt mode. Not required but eh once you plug it in it'll stay in just fine.

 

Thanks man. Seems strange that it's not mentioned in the instructions but neither is the drill attachment or the other hand though.

 

For those that haven't picked up Spartan yet, in case this wasn't widely known already, looks like restock is confirmed as not happening until April; Seraph comes first (yay!).

 

Interesting. Seraph's due April 2016 as well. I guess they're pushing for it to be the first release after the CNY factory shutdown.

Jaegertron & Cyclonus look to be relatively close, so I wonder if those would be April/May.

It'll be interesting to see if and how much MMC's production capacity will grow in 2016. Excluding second runs and exclusives such as TFCon Cynicus and Nero Rex, (but including OX), MMC's released 8 new figures in 2015.

The OX Malum Malitia and Seraph already have pre-orders, so those would be 4 figures right off the bat for 2016.

Has anyone made an attempt at removing his helmet panel line paint? There were tons of complaints when it was first revealed and talk of people wanting to get rid of it but I don't think we've heard of any successful removal results.

 

So i finally got my hands on this guy.. paid 5 bucks more (singapore) than i wanted but since he was sold out EVERYWHERE or obscenely marked up, im glad to have him and hope since hastak has been releasing him as a combiner figure both in cw and foc.. i hope he does not get an official toy for a long time.

 

Spartan is worth every cent and then some, one of the best figures of 2015. Hasbro could put out a voyager tomorrow and I guarantee you it would be a pile of janky crap compared to Spartan. lol

FYI for those interested, TCP has gotten more in stock as of today.

 

Thanks for the heads up! I pulled the trigger. I regretted not picking one up the first time around and was seriously considering paying aftermarket prices.

 

The Transmissions Podcast just posted the results of it's end of year survey, and the #1 third party figure of 2015, with 30% of the vote, was MMC's Spartan! Congrats Spartan!

X-Transbots Apollyon came in second 28% of the vote, and MMC Cynicus came in third.

 

i want you to know you guys suck. i was only going to get turmoil since i'd rather have only one version of the mold...but looking at a few pics you guys posted up....

i just preordered one from the upcoming second run.
