If I remember correctly the leg ratchets on feral rex weren't great and he would collapse fairly easily if he was put in tall mode. This wasn't an issue with Nero Rex. That guy was solid.

Ironically my Nero Rex suffers from this issue.

Odd that. My Nero has tighter joints and is more stable than my Feral in combined mode.

My Feral Rex has kinda dodgy hips, but I have the feet earthquake waxed to the shelf so he can't go anywhere. I keep being tempted to get the upscaled KO, but I imagine that problem would be even worse there.

Earthquake Wax? I assume you're in CA or somewhere in the world like that but can you explain that to me? I've never heard of it. Do you buy this stuff and glue everything down or how does it work?

"Tall mode" wasn't even meant to be a thing in the first place, so...

It is a microcrystalline wax you put under valuables so they don't fall and break in earthquakes. I use it under my combiners as well as glassware, etc. I live in NZ, and we get earthquakes pretty regularly being on the ring of fire (same as Japan and California)

I just used the friction pads that came with Felisaber, and any chance of Rex slipping on his feet vanished. I need to get more of those rubber strips for various other 3P Combiners that didn't get that treatment.

I was late to get Feral Rex (as in, this year) but I gotta say I was impressed with the stability given all of what the Feralcons do individually, the combined mode hips aren't the greatest design but they work alright...the friction pads were a very nice addition. I mean, UW Devastator has more stable legs, but Feral Rex can hold up a deluxe or light voyager figure in his hand no problem and once he's posed in what his limited range will allow, he stays there. I mean, it's way better than anything official, just a tad finicky. I'm probably going to kick myself for not being able to get Sky Lynx to fight him right now, but if he's still around next spring when my work picks up I really want to get both parts. MMC specializes in big figures so I don't doubt Sky Lynx will be amazing and stable when fully combined, Carnifex remains the best figure in my collection.

I believe most places call it “museum wax”. Probably easier to find under that name, unless you live near a fault.

Oh, no doubt. Carnifex ruined me for what I expect out of a Transformer now, and for only $180...

Alt mode seems pretty small. So it's basically longer (just by a bit) than an MP car.

Hmm I'm actually liking this more than I've ever liked Sky Lynx's lynx form before.

This truly looks like it could be the best piece MMC has produced since their Overlord. I'm done with 3rd party, but depending on how this reviews along with the other part ("Inventa?") I may have to pick this up.

Feral Rex has very weak ratchets in the elbows and outward hip articulation. The leg sliders should also have had locks.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my MMC FR, and his engineering is amazing, but those weaker ratchets limit posing options. The elbows only had about 2 clicks of range, adding a third worth if you use the bot hips.

Feral Rex is simply amazing overall, and shines in all 3 forms. It's just sad that he has difficulty holding his sword or not doing splits.

Carnifex is in my top 3 favorite 3P figures, but Sky Lynx has potential to replace him. It really feels like MMC is putting a lot of TLC into this design, like they did with Carnifex. I predict a figure of the year here.

And for those who want an MP scaled Sky Lynx, I am sure someone will come up with one soon if this guy sells well. Frankly, I think he looks amazing for CHUG, and possibly even better for Legends scale, at least alt mode wise.
