I could totally see that. The cockpit points down/lays flat already as opposed to Whril's which faces out/forward.

 

I love the character but I'm a bit iffy on the lower leg/ hover mode design. I'd hope they could eliminate the gap between his legs in this form. It doesn't have to be complex, just something I'd like to see.

That said I still think this is a cool design and will more than likely purchase the toy as is.

 

I hate his wings. It reminds me of those gear within gear drawings toys that kids use where you can draw circles and then bigger circles and so on (can't recall the name of it). In other words, terrible. Otherwise... he looks okay I guess?

 

Pretty sure MMC is going for Stormbringer Whirl, not MTME.

 

Wow! Nice to see the Beast Era getting some 3rd party live, and a Beast Machines design no less! Massivly underrated and set upon series. Obsidian, like a lot of the vechlons was really nice original design.

Totally agree. Beast Machines is one of my favorite series.

 

Ok guys lets just say MMC would do BM Thrust, Tankor and Jetstorm(really hope we atleast get a Jetstorm) what other characters can be done from those molds? Obsidian retooled into Whirl and Strika into Roadbuster is awesome.

I really don't think this has anything to do with Beast Machines. Sure, the character originated from it, but its current incarnation is pseudo-IDW, as shown in the comic scans.

Someone from MMC just really liked the character.

 

Works for me! A quick Google image refresher course and it looks like their vehicle modes, with some minor tweaks, match up perfectly.

 

Beast machines was a good show. it was just marketed at the wrong demographic. it was not appropriate for saturday morning fox kids nonsense. it really should have been on cartoon network's toonami block. i think it would have found a better audience there. keep in mind the show went into some pretty deep themes, such as religious fanaticism and survivor's guilt.

now granted "I am transformed" got annoying super fast. but that was reigned in in the second season.


on the subject of the figure. it looks awesome! I fucking love the Cog-Rotors.

I would love to see them produce a Jetstorm.

 

I clearly read an "Oberon" in the upper left corner of the picture. Which makes sense since their Strika is named Titanika which sounds like Titania from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

 

I dig this. Definitely going on my "wish list."

 

Why the fuck does it look nothing like Obsidian. why is it the wrong color? Why's the head shape wrong. Are we sure it's supposed to be Obsidian?
