    Hope to complete the DJD. MMC did a great job with Mors/Helex. 20200720_124805.jpg 20200720_111202.jpg 20200720_111111.jpg 20200720_110910.jpg 20200719_194718.jpg 20200719_194704.jpg

Core Star is coming for my birthday on Sunday and it looks like Mors will ship out from TFSource in time for a late Bday present! The MMC DJD are SO CLOSE to completion. I better get moving on my Pharma, Anode, Lug & Velocity customs so I can finally do the full IDW cast picture.

    Helex - check

    Two down, five to go.

Unpackaged mine today, he's pretty great. Instructions manage to leave out a few parts that left me puzzled for a few, but he's a great solid chonky boy. Hard imagining that Tortor is even larger, very excited to have the whole crew together!

With TFSource getting theirs in stock, I'm excited that BBTS should get theirs in soon. Namely because I want this beautiful bastard but also because once he's in stock, I can ship him with Foxwire/Ni and I can stop checking the BBTS website worried they've run out of stock of the latter two!

My shipment of this guy got delayed...USPS 2-day shipping might as well be a week.

Couldn't you just get Nickel and The Pet and then have them Stacked until Helex's arrival? Sounds a tad bit counterproductive to me, if I gotta be honest, since we can easily say it's gonna be less than 90 days till he gets there.

You gotta remember that Mors was, what, originally supposed to come out in May? I couldn't put them in the PoL simply because there was no way of confirming that Mors would fall within the 90 day limit.

Granted, putting them in the PoL now probably is a good idea since as you say it's likely Mors will be in by the middle of September.

I just got in Mors today! My initial impressions are great, in fact I'd go so far as to say he's the best Reformatted release from the past couple of years. Not quite as good as Carnifex, but definitely up there with the likes of the Kultur and Stray molds. Mors is well-articulated with an excellent ab-crunch, articulated fingers, arms that can do almost anything you'd want, a second pair of tiny Kuato (Total Recall) arms with some decent articulation, but he sadly lacks an ankle tilt. Mors' legs in particular are where this figure holds many of its flaws; as many have said, he's in desperate need of some ratchets to hold the weight of his upper body, they keep on sliding and sagging when I try to pose him. The arms are better, but knowing how much weight they could've held with some ratchets makes me a tad sad. While it's an issue, it's not a huge issue--this figure's pros more than outweigh its cons.

In a good way, this figure feels like an old Transformers: Cybertron figure (see: Megalo Convoy/Metroplex, Menasor, Crumplezone), because he's chunky, sturdy, fun, and he turns into a crazy-ass Cybertronian vehicle. The transformation is fun and intuitive, I transformed him without instructions and had no problem. The vehicle mode is a big ol' brick of "armed" joy, (granted, he only spent a few seconds in this mode until I transformed him...) I can just picture it running down and ripping apart rebellious Decepticons. The paint work on Mors is excellent--I can't think of many apps he's missing or that are out of place save for maybe wanting a brighter shade of orange for the "tears" on his face. I also would've personally preferred grey paint for the face, but silver works fine. Speaking of the head sculpt, it looks much less mooshy in hand (something about that silver must be hard to photograph), I'm very picky about head sculpts and it works very well for me in person. While some accessories would've been nice, if I haven't mentioned it yet this guy is HUGE, so for $200 I feel like he more than covered his budget. Mors is a big bulky bruiser of a figure, and one of MMC's best releases in recent years. I'm honestly apathetic about the DJD as characters (the comics ended in a fizzle, IMO) but as character designs they're incredible and intricate, so to see MMC actually manage to make working toys of these guys is truly impressive.
