I think Fort Max is smaller than this guy in the comics.

 

The reason I mention Giga and Mega is because (and I can't find his post now) Unicron.Nemsis posted a picture here and under said "I'll let MMC announce the 'giga' and 'mega' somethingoranother"

You'd have to ask him.

 

For those of you still wondering how he scales with other bots, here's a pic from a few months back by Unicron Nemesis, showing Carnifex with Mastermind Creations other releases. You can see how he'll scale with Deluxes, Voyagers, MP's (MP-10 comes up to Hexatron's head), and a combiner.

those compartments look too small for transforming godmaster partners.

If they do release something it will more likely to be just godmaster plates that replace the missile plates.

 

The potential for Godmasters does have me interested.

Man before thencolored images made me feel he's too IDW. But seeing this poc made me warm back up to him. It's most certainly Overlord. Still wish there were an optional alt head.
Also I did not know the G1 toy was that huge. By Primus I wish I could own one.

 

I need this. Also.... wow, G1 Overlord is seriously impressive.

 

What do you guys think about the build quality of this figure? Also I don't collect MMC figures, I sold off Feral Rex just wasn't my thing. But will this toy stand out from the others?

MMC Build Quality is amazing.

And depending on where you place him (you can place him wherever you like), he will probably stand out, yes. Especially if placed with your MP's.

He barely has any flat surfaces like G1 Overlord unlike most of the 198X G1 bots. He has a chugsterpiece look to him and has a very non-G1 head/face

But this is what makes me want him so much  

 

That is MMC's MO it seems. They don't like wasted surfaces  

 

Yeah, sometimes it bugs the hell out of me. This looks fine though.

 

Meh. I will probably just wait for the clonedroid. At least it will have diecast parts.

 

Times like this, I'm glad I've a mixed collection ^_^
I'm looking forward to owning Carnifax and as a fan of the IDW aesthetic, this toy really hits a lot of the right notes^^
That said, I am glad that there are nods and the like for the g1 fans as well, that was very clever of MMC (to me at least) as it widened the purchase base considerably, having things that both camps would enjoy without alienating either.

I will admit that I'm waiting on word about Godmasters before pre-ordering. I'm not a huge Masterforce fan, but I would like to have the Godmasters and I just want to see if Giga and Mega will be sold as a separate unit or if I'll have to wait for a second run and be jealous of those who did not ^_^ (It's not like I'm waiting on the DJD, so I'll have some lovely IDW aesthetics in my collection while I wait)

 

Got mine pre-ordered   Now I wait for Tarn to pop up.

 

It's a great looking figure, I just have one major concern...

And that's MMC itself.

How many versions of this are planned? Think of Hexatron, that got a grey test shot, normal version, black version, great shot and a modified more g1 version.

So for this figure, what are the chances of them just using the mold once?

The guess would be an IDW version and a G1 version.

IDW FIRST - this is what we have seen.

Then version two, G1 with powermaster figures included in some form with slight colour changes.

At least FT was upfront with reprints with the Dinobots line, you knew there would be a cartoon/toy version, disclose version and comic version from the start.

This is a lot on money not to get the version you really want. And what are the chances of MMC actually telling us knowing it would affect the sales of the first figure potentially?

I just don't have much trust in third party figures now, been burned with more accurate reprints too many times now.

 

That price is pretty good. Still wish it wasn't so over-detailed with lines.

 

The only parts that I find suffer for that fact are the shin guards. A bit heavy on the "Cassy Sark-ism" there. Otherwise, the rest fits, and is largely in line with his comic depiction.

I think the issue will also largely vanish in hand. Part of it looks overwhelming just because you're seeing it context of a shrunken photo, where the true-to-life figure has that detail spread over a much larger area. Also, the high-contrast photographic lighting serves to highlight and deepen the detail, whereas natural lighting tends to soften or hide it a lot.

 

I hadn't heard of a more G1 looking Hexatron by the way; can anyone link a pic of that?

 

It's up on planetsteelexpress - hope it's a good place to order from because I just put in a preorder there. Do they get their MMC stuff faster or all retailers pretty much equal? No idea what the scoop is there.

Way more excited than I thought I'd be for this as I haven't been buying much at all the last year. Woo! Something to look forward to!
