My Big Fish Legion showed up in the post today.. I have to say, I'm quite disappointed. Here's why. He has no bicep swivel. His articulation overall is pretty basic (rotating head, balljointed shoulders, hinge elbows, swivel wrists, waist, hinge at hip and knee.) The lack of bicep swivel however, means he cannot hold his Mantis rifle at all convincingly. He cannot aim it, or even hold it in a relaxed pose in 2 hands. Which, lets face it are probably the 2 poses you most want to display him in. All the pre-production prototypes have a bicep swivel, including the version shown on Legion's packaging. (Who is holding the rifle in the exact pose I'd like to put my Legion in! I'm used to not having the same version in the pack, but this is similar to buying a TF leader package and opening it up to find a Deluxe. It's a real shame as the sculpt and paintjob are decent. He was never going to make a good playable toy, but the lack of poseability also stops him being a good statue. Other than the Mantis (which is a great likeness of the in-game model,) he comes with his shoulder antenna and a base. I used the code on the Bioware site, but I have no idea what it has gotten me. Haven't checked ingame yet.
Well, that's pretty much the standard in this line. I have the first wave, and two handed guns just can't really be held convincingly on any of them. The sculpt detail is really the best part about them.
Mine arrived yesterday, I haven't opened them yet. I know, for as much as I have been freaking out, and not have opened them up?
Got my Shepherd and Grunt Tuesday. Articulation sucks, hard to get any decent poses out of them. Best one I've found for Shep is with his helmet on, in a standing behind cover pose. He can almost 2-hand his weapon, but it pops his shoulder pad off. Grunt is just hopeless though. Wielding a shotgun one-handed is a little iffy, even for a krogan.
Miranda and Garrus showed up on my porch today. Happy that they both have upper arm swivels so they can use both hands in their weapons. The head sculpt on Garrus is lacking in detail and paint apps, he's got no eyes! Just some black paint in the eye sockets, creepy.
That's ok, my Mordin doesn't have a peg hole in either of his feet. I need to take a drill bit to one of them sometime.
Anyone have Grunt? If so do you have any SHFs as well? If yes to both, can you post a pic of the two next to each other?
SHF? Oh, and what the hell happened to the playarts Tali and Femshep listings on BBTS? They still have a link on the main page, but it takes you there and they only show Ashley, Shep and Garrus.
That's fine, but they should at least take that pic off the front page. Thinking of figures that aren't released yet...where the hell is Liara! I want her, Ashley, EDI and TIM.
