Its because Mahershala Ali is credited in the film and we know he will be Blade by the end of this phase with his own movie.
Blade was not in any of the D+ stuff, Eternals is our first "introduction" to the character, so far the first character from the D+ shows to appear in the films was Val who recruited Yelena to hunt down Hawkeye in the end of BW, who first showed up in Falcon
Who was supposed to have her first appearance in BW but it got delayed so many times her appearance got switched around with the show.
Eternals VFX Team on Making Makkari Different Than Other Marvel Speedsters ETERNALS: Weta Digital On Making Makkari's Speedster Scenes Different Than Quicksilver & Flash (Exclusive) Honestly, super-speed is visually represented as slow-motion, blurs, or a mixture of both. There wasn't anything too different from what the Flash, Sonic or both Quicksilvers did IMO.
I was surprised David Kaye voice arisham found that out today movoe was better than captain marvel but not that great could have been shorter
Just saw it. Wasn't expecting much, but it was alright. So was Tiamut practically teased in Endgame when they mentioned an underwater earthquake?
That was assumed, but it could be inferred that the gamma snap was enough to make Tiamut “twitch” or move, as kids sometimes do in the womb. We just didn’t realize it was reffered to him until now.
I plan on watching this Friday night. I don't want to because I think it looks awful, but just so I can have watched every Marvel movie.
I've started watching it (my workweek schedule makes it hard to watch full length movies at once, so I tend to watch things in bits), so far it's nice seeing Salma Hayek in charge.
I watched this in 3 parts last night. I was a comic reader in the early 80s to mid 90s and had zero knowledge of any of these characters (same with Shang-Chi) as a background so I had no nostalgia or "wow" moment seeing them on screen. I also really want to like all Marvel shows/movies. That said, this was so boring. There were too many characters fighting for screen time. Only character plight I felt even slightly for was Sprite at the end. I couldn't care about anyone else. Rest, this was just going through the motions. Wasn't a "bad" movie, but I never want to see it again.
It reminded me of watching one of the "Harry Potter" movies (especially the later ones). What I mean is, it felt like there was some YA Eternals novel out there, and this was an exercise in trying to film every major scene in the book and include every major character with no real adaptation taking place. And so, to make it fit in a traditional movie runtime, the filmmakers have to jettison every ounce of character and warmth that made the book work and stick just to plot and world building. What you're left with is this empty dramatization that only works for people who have read the book and can imprint that onto the movie. Except, this time, there is no book to create that good will and the whole audience is going "Oh my god, why are we sitting through another quidditch game, I don't care."
Personally, I'm looking forward to watching this again from the comfort of home. I understand why so many people aren't fans of this movie, but to me it excelled at what it was trying to be.
I’m looking forward to watching this at home, but so I can fast forward through much of the flashbacks. They aren’t really needed and I suspect this will be a tighter movie without them.
Watched it. I went into it not really liking all the footage I saw from promos and such, and other peoples comments when it came out so maybe it swayed my judgement, but I didn't like it at all. I thought it was slow paced, mediocre acting, etc. etc. But what bothers me the most is it not having any real connection to the existing MCU whatsoever. Other shows and movies came after this in the timeline and no one mentions a giant head hovering over the planet, or this new "rock" formation that happens to look like a head and hand. The only saving grace, and I'm being serious, is Pip the troll.
