I picked this up the other day too. Fantastic story. I agree in that it seemed a little short. It was so creepy it was great.
I just read Marvel Zombies... Having read the Ultmate Fantastic Four story before, and hearing marvel was going ot have another arc..i was looking forward to this.. But i was disappointed. I wish they carried the atmosphere that the zombies presented in the UFF title. Pak & Land did incredible writing and the art was the best. This comic seems to portray the whole zombie thing and characters as a joke relative to UFF Compared to UFF, reading this was a little disappointing. I do hope it gets better.
Preview for #2, with a little spoiler: http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0512/15/marvelfirsts.htm
I think my favorite image, thus far, is Captain America pointing at his half a head and screaming he gets double rations for that. Absolutely priceless. I will have this when it hits trade.
This series is disturbing because you see some of your favorite heroes as blood thirsty zombies. It's really a neat idea I think. I hope the Punisher is one of the survivers. I want to see him busting some zombies!
I heard somewhere that Silver Surfer is invincible...or was it hulk? Must me SS cause Hulks dead. That said, does anyone think Zombie Hulk could make SS bleed?
actually, SS invinciblity is due to his silver coating which in itself is impermeable. inside he's all jello.
Well, SS has been killed in at least two What If's. He died in What if the Age of Apocalypse Never Ended, and in What if Galactus Devoured Earth. In AoA Wolvey Impaled him and he just died. Rather lame really. The other time was far more grand. He fought the Avengers. Thor threw his hammer at him, putting cracks in his chest. Later, Doom threw everything he had at him and he went up like a supernova. So he can be killed. Bringing up the Surfer just now got me thinking. Maybe whatever happened to the heroes is the same thing that happened to Galactus.
Well seeing as this series is kinda like a parady, I'm betting Silversurfer with die. Seeing as the story arc is only 5 issues, it does seem like an obvious fate.
Except that Tony Stark is a Meta human in the ultimate-verse *see ultimate ironman but, fury and punisher are still reguler ass humans.
This was a fun book! I enjoyed every page of it...right down to Magneto screaming..."I hope you choke on me!" Cant wait to see where this series goes...even though I have an idea.
Well, #2's out now. And while I was reading this I was reminded of Vangelus' post here: If you all thought he was a dick based on that preview alone, well... let's just say the dickery doesn't end there.
