I didn't think season 2 was that bad. Just too long. If it was condensed to like 5 eps, I would have enjoyed it more.
Yeah Season 2 had some high points, but I agree it was dragged out. I'm hyped after seeing this trailer.
Shame because I really enjoyed Luke Cage, both seasons. Would have been an interesting season 3 with Luke running the club.
I dunno. I thought Luke Cage was one long, continuous missed opportunity. Great opening title sequence. Everything else... disappointment.
3 episodes into Jessica Jones season 3, and I'm remembering how unlikable a lot of these characters are.
there really is only one likable reoccuring character on the whole show....and even he had a piece of shit moment in season 2.
Small gripe 2 episodes in: Spoiler I'm getting a little weary of the "shit on the comic book outfit" trope at this point. That was a decent Hellcat costume. I know it's a realistic approach, but maybe I don't always want too much realistic practicality in my Marvel watching all the time. Not going to boycott or something crazy trollish, just a gripe.
From what I heard this season of JJ is must more of the same, unlikable characters doing unlikable things in the longest, most boring dragged out possible manner ever. So who is the villain of this season?
Spoiler No, expect for one scene where she's trying out costumes to wear, but she discards the Hellcat costume, as she didnt liked it
Yeah too many Tv and movies act like they are embarrassed to be doing costumes and avoid them as much as they can, these movies are making billions at the box office and there is still a stigma with doing a traditional costumed hero show by a lot filmmakers Fans want it, but those in charge think it’s stupid. They also want to remove masks as much as possible
So Daredevil is the only one in the entire Netflix MCU that ever wears a costume (The Punisher kinda counts I guess but even they avoided the Skull for a while for some reason). Even with the darker tones of all these shows, it seems kinda lazy that they didn’t try something. They all live in a city where two people have super strength, a billionaire has glowing fist that shoots concussive blasts, and a bunch of semi-immortal ninjas. It’s not exactly realistic anyway, so why no costumes?
Well with Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, they didnt needed costumes, Luke Cage in the comics mostly wears a yellow t-shirt and pants and Jessica Jones is not a superhero as the other characters, especially since they arent doing a series about her days as Jewel, so they can get away with no superhero costume. With Iron Fist, from what i recall if i am not wrong, he would've gotten his costume eventually, as Danny grew and developed over the series and became worthy of the Iron Fist title, once he had reached that point, he would've gotten his costume, they wanted Danny to earn his costume, rather than giving him the suit right now. But the show got canned before we reached that point.
Someone should tell them that Super Sentai and Kamen Rider have been doing it for nearly 50 years now.
I did too. I actually think Luke Cage became my favorite overall of the Netflix shows, even though my love of Bernthal's Punisher makes me rate Punisher S1 and DD S2 so high - LC was the show I felt had the most potential left in it, especially after such a strong 2nd season that, IMO, really added to the characters and opened up more possibilities. Season 3 could've been amazing. I'm actually the most sad about it being cut off than the others. I also found myself liking a lot of the supporting characters (I loved Shades and Misty, and Bushmaster was a great addition in S2). I was spoiled on season 3 of Jessica, and I'll be skipping it now. I'm completely turned off by what they do to one of the characters, especially for the final season. As fantastic as season 1 was, and as much as I love Ritter and Taylor in their roles, the show itself went downhill.
