Absolutely no idea what it is or does. Is it something from the Thor comics? It apparently made the day of the guy in the top photo on the right. He can die happy having seent the Infinity Gauntlet.
It would be cool to see a big cosmic Marvel movie get made tied in all around the Infinity Gauntlet. Maybe the second Avengers movie. Odin seems to be quite the collector. That and the Cosmic Cube, I wonder what else will show up. Does he happen to have the Ultimate Nullifier too?
The Infinity Gauntlet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Basically, it's the most powerful item in the Marvel Universe. Each gem(the Infinity Gems) controls an aspect of the Universe: Power, Space, Time, Reality, Mind, and Soul. How it's portrayed in the Thor movie is anybody's guess though.
If they do a movie involving the Infinity Gauntlet, it shouldn't be an Avengers movie because that would suck. The miniseries story awhile back is a pretty good read because Thanos is bad-ass in it. I doubt a movie would ever work the more I think about it.
Looks awesome! It's either going to be a cameo piece in Thor to possibly be used later or an Avengers plot device.
Wow. I totally missed that while SDCC. Coincidentally I picked up an Infinity Gauntlet trade at the show, as I have never read it.
Various super hero sites are saying the glove is from Thor and not for Avengers. The aesthetic certainly fits in with the rest of Thor.
I did read a recent rumour that the Loki actor, Tom Hiddleston, gave a gave a sort of non-denial denial answer that he was in The Avengers. Comic Con: Tom Hiddleston Hints That Loki Will Be In The Avengers But even if he is, I personally fell The Infinity Gauntlet is too big an item to appear in one film and be used by Loki. It needs villain like Thanos to wield it. I'd much prefer it being in the background of a scene, much like Caps shield in Iron Man.
I figure that's probably what will happen. There will be a scene in Asgard with a trophy room or something in the background. Maybe Odin's personal treasures or something. And the Gauntlet is just there as a nod to the fans.
Spoiler From what I gathered, it is just an item that shows up in Odin's throne room, along with the Cosmic Cube. It's the Cube that will play an important rule though, not the gauntlet; from what I heard Loki's actions will have it fall to Earth, where Red Skull will try and get it in the Captain America movie, then make it's final appearance in the Avengers movie. I will be very surprised if the Gauntlet doesn't end up playing a big role in future Marvel movies though.
