I didn't buy it, but I skimmed through it. It looks interesting. I may end up getting it eventually, based on the ending of this issue. Here's the basic idea (from what I can tell) of what's going on. Dr. Doom sends Doc Ock and The Hulk (mind controlled again probably) in giant robots to find something. He also sends out other giant robots as (what I assume to be) a distraction. Stark has his own giant robots for Cap, Spidey, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider to fight these with. While they're fighting these robots, Doc Ock and The Hulk break into the SHIELD helicarrier and find what they're looking for on the very last page. SPOILER! The deactivated body of Red Ronin, leader of the Shogun Warriors! That's probably the very last thing I expected to see.
It's been an enjoyable series so far. As long as people realize it's not the "616" or Main Universe, they'll probably enjoy it too.
its okay i guess. nothing to write home abt. some nice dialogue tho, like when spidey makes fun of GR: vengeance! its his thing.
I picked it up after reading this thread, and I agree. As long as you don't take it seriously, it's an amusing read. Kinda reminds me of reading TF comics. Though I gotta shake my head and chuckle at the idea of Hulk needing a giant robot.
I was going to ask why The Blob didn't get one as well, but then I reliased that the toyline itself was the immovable object.
You think they're going to use this to bring back the Shogun Warriors? I remember hearing that Marvel was planning on bringing back one of their old properties. I know the toys were from various japanese lines like Mazinger, but the comicbook characters were pretty much original.
I saw the Toys on Thursday, yeah in person they don't look to bad, Come with a Mini figure of who drives it, (one up on Gundam and other mech toylines) Think I saw them all but Doom. I was tempted to buy one just to check out but man they're pricey. (if recall was around $20 bucks at Toys R Us) (Reason I say that is because I came in hunting the Crimson Shadow Gaurd down. I did find it, though next trip I hope to snag a Ghost Rider one of these, wish I remembered what they all turn into)
