I recently bought issues 72-84 of Marvel comics Presents. Which shows when and how Wolverine got the skeleton and was brainwashed by the Professor. I read all of the Wolverine story. (These issues contain other stories featuring other characters) Does anyone have anything to say about the story arc.
The story was awesome, and I remember reading (and enjoying every page) back before the evil Internet ruined everything. lol Hell, I'll never forget my reaction to X-Men 25/Wolverine 75. 0_0 I think what the Professor (not to be confused with Professor X) and the project did was more akin to erasing/reprogramming Logan's memories instead of just brainwashing (although the term could still work, but I prefer to say erase/reprogram). It is a true classic, and even though I love the reboot from what happens in X-Men 25/Wolverine 75...it does sort of make the "Weapon X" story seem out of place because of it. I'm avoiding putting spoilers by the way, so this probably won't explain much. Plus it made Wolverine a very interesting character for the next several years (about six years give or take a few months). Are you new to Wolverine, or have you read any other stories with him? I can definitely recommend you a few if you want to read more.
I started reading a little more Marvel lately. So far for Wolverine I read all of Origin and Weapon X (Marvel Comics Presents 72-84)
Hologram covers aside (which were very cool back then), Fatal Attractions was one of the better 90s X-crossovers. Hotshot, I definitely recommend it. Issues are cheap to pick up too. Yeah, Weapon X is pretty classic. The BWS art helps the most though.
The only thing I know about it is that the writer wanted the guy the Professor talks on the phone all the time (his boss) to be Apocalypse. Yes that Apocalypse. To the point that a page in issue 84 had to be re-written to delete Apocalypse when Marvel said no that's a dumb idea.
