I'm very glad to see they're planning out this far. If Planet Hulk actually gets this long spent on its animation (I know, unlikely, but still) it could look awersome.
The Marvel DVD's have been decent so far. I'd really love for them to release a DVD on par with the amazing Ironman webisodes they've been putting online.
It was quite a departure from the original origin, but it was also quite good. It had a little bit of Kung Fu = Magic. I didn't like Dr. Strange's hairstyle.
Planet Hulk is an amazing story, one of those you can't put down once you start reading it. That said, I really didn't care for the animation in the Aengers and Iron Man movies... I didn't see Dr. Strange, but assumed it was the same. It just bugged me for some reason. I like the animation from Superman Doomsday and the upcoming Justice League New Frontier movies, they just seem simpler while not sacrificing the character. I hope they don't change the story much. Ultimate Avengers could have been better if they stuck to the original story. I can't help but think these things get changed by someone with an ego to put their own stamp on how the story should be, but I know time and money are involved too.
The Dr Strange movie was great. Best of the 3 Marvel animated flicks put out so far in my opinion... anyway, I'm really looking forward to these
i'm curious about Hulk VS...that could be cool...only one that doesnt really grab me is next avengers...however, i'm sure i'll still pick it up and see how it is...
ooooo, Planet Hulk could be really awesome, as could be the Thor one. Hulk vs. might be, depending on how they do it. I couldn't really care less about whatever Next Avengers is though.
I liked it, it was easily the most enjoyable Marvel DVD movie I have scene. As for this batch of movies I fear I couldn't be less interested.
Dr. Strange was probably my favorite of the four released so far and Iron Man was sadly the worst of the movies. Next Avengers (I have been thinking about that one and wanted to know the status for a few days now) and Thor are the ones I'm most excited about but I will probably buy both Hulk movies also. I just hope all four are good.
I have to agree the marvel animateds have been decent, not great by any means, but decent. I just Ironman a couple of days ago, and enjoyed it. Planet Hulk and Hulk VS do sound like they have potential. I really wish they'd do a straight adaptation of Infinity Gauntlet though.
Damn. From the thread title I thought Marvel was releasing a bunch of older animated stuff on DVD. I want my Spider-man and his Amazing Friends!
Untrue! I think a Moon Knight OVA would be awesome. Especially if it started out where he was just like Batman at first, but then got the powers from Konshu. However, I would like for them to stay away from the Ultimate Moon Knight's schizophrenia You can blame Disney for the lack of DVD's on Amazing Friends.
Oh god that would rule. On the DC side, I wouldn't mind an adaptation of Identity Crisis. Or for that matter, Batman: Knightfall.
