No details yet, but NASA says they will release the findings on December 3rd-7th.

I'm going to go on a limb and say it's microscopic ameoba or something along those lines.

Did anyone else realize Phoenix discovered ice at the Martian north pole in 2008? I feel like I never heard of that until now.

Whoops, that's probably my car they found. I was wondering what planet I'd left it on, glad to know it's been located.

I'm way too hyped over this already.

Alien microbes? Alien remains? A new element?

    Dammit NASA, stop teasing us!

Yeah, they probably found the Ark. The real one. Not the Bay replica on the moon.

A new element would be cool. I hadn't even thought of that. I'm hoping it's evidence of a society. I know that's waaaaaaay unlikely, but it would be cool to see some kind of purposely constructed item or a structure of some kind.

If it was that big, I don't think the NASA would talk about it. At least not yet.

It's probably a video of a Decepticon silhouette crushing the rover.

    Ooooh, so excited! :D
Perhaps it'll be evidence of bacteria, maybe in a fossilised form similar to that meteorite that was found some time ago, the Allan Hills one?

Or it's probably found the minerals and compounds that it was supposed to be looking for, either way, i'm pumped

I really hope it's something that could change the very boundaries of science, and not just NASA trolling us.

For those of you who think that it's going to be aliens, it's probably not going to be. Why? Because if it was an actual, honest-to-god, "take me to your leader" alien, then the government would probably cover it like crazy.

I'm going with some microbe similar to an extinct species on Earth.

Some piece of an asteroid or comet had a fragment break off (or knocked off) on it's way to Earth, landed on Mars, but unfortunately, the climate conditions were not suited for it to evolve. Whereas our planet had the right conditions.

...or the Ancients left something behind by accident, when they took the Stargate off Mars.

...or a piece of a Star Destroyer that was destroyed, and floated all the way out here a long time ago, from a galaxy far, far away.

...or the smart dinosaurs who left Earth before the extinction event, used Mars as a stopover before moving on.

Every time NASA announces something like this it turns out to be not that big of a deal. I'll wait for the actual announcement before getting excited.
