    Have to agree with your assessment. how this level of pretentious fuckery can be labeled as "art" and that some dumb ass with too much time and money will actually pay top dollar for it is beyond any form of logical reasoning. I get that art is interpretive and subjective, but sometimes a piece of shit is just a piece of shit and a banana is just a banana. Honestly, if it was done by someone who hadn't already made a name for himself I doubt it would be as highly valued or fawned over, but some have more money than sense so there's that too.

    I've been neck deep in the art/music/etc. world my entire life, and what you said there is exactly it: art is interpretive and subjective, but sometimes a piece of shit is just a piece of shit. And it's exactly these kinds of buffoons that A) call themselves 'artists' or B) support those asshats that ruins it for everyone else... aka the ones that actually HAVE talent and ARE artists. No amount of rich dudes buying this shit or homeless looking/smelling sidewalk chalk drawing millennial hoping to be the next Basquiat saying otherwise changes that.
