Saw this advertised the other day and saw the last half of the show. It is Called Man Vs Cartoon on Tru.Tv. The same channel with Speeders and World's Dumbest... Basically it is like Mythbusters, Doing DaVinci, etc. It is a group of college engineering grads (this time from New Mexico Tech) and they are given a contraption from a clip (Wylie Coyote) and they need to bring it to life with their skills. The part I saw they were building a Rube Goldberg type contraption. It went something like: Watering Can waters plant - Plant grows and strikes match that lights rope - Rope releases a spring that flings a boot - Boot lands in bucket and lifts cage off mouse - mouse runs and eats cheese which is counter balanced by a weight - weight falls and and pulls trigger of gun - bullet ricochets off targets and lights candle - candle lights fuse for cannon - cannon fires and kills road runner. They took a few liberties and changed tiny aspects of the set up. Instead of the plant growing to strike a match, they had a pinwheel sunflower that raised a board that turned on a light. Instead of the live mouse they had a big fake one that knocked off a fake block of cheese. The ricocheting bullet was changed to a paint ball that hit a target, the dropped a ball that pulled pins out of two other balls. The zig zagged down a set of chutes. One knocked over lighter fluid and the other took longed and knocked loose a third ball with a stick through it. Attached to the end was steel wool. The steel wool hits a 9volt battery and ignites the steel wool which leads up more steel wool and lights cannon fuse. It was kinda fun to see this work (it did work BTW). Their target was a big wooden box full or bright feathers and a Road Runner on the front. It blasted a huge hole through the neck/upper body of the road runner. Pretty neat show. Saturdays at 10e/9c PM on Tru TV.
I watched that as well, I was hoping it would work...... Anything that goes kaboom is alright in my book.
I think they are using college grads to help them get some strange experience to help them look great for hiring.
i was watching that show-but had to leave the house and missed the ending. kinda hate the faux sparring between team members, but the concept is quite impressive. Bet Jaimie and Adam watch the show just to say "darn, we can do that, too!" (was it me or was that blonde girl cute? LOL.) Wow, something on TRU that doesn't have Hambeast Repo-bitches or David Hasslehoff wannabes or cops and speeders mugging for the camera. smart move, TRU. good job.
I was so wanting to watch that...but I forgot that the ads stated "10 PM/9 Central", so I tuned in an hour too late. Oh well. Caught a good episode of Forensic Files though.
geez rattrap, how do we keep watching the same shows? i watched last night great show i loved it! i think it's agreat concept
