Think this was picked up by the Chinese newspaper since it's a recent rising wealth of the middle class allowing them to spend on things besides essentials. At the same time I know there are specific AFA G1 and MIB G1 collectors in China that are willing to drop a ton of cash but they don't show off their collection. Fell these are the guys that are keeping a lot of the G1 MIB stuff at a higher price.

Then followed by Kotaku picking up this Chinese story as they are trying to fill out daily content.

$32000 works out at £18700, and I'm certain I've topped that in 14 years of adult collecting. Not sure by how much though... nor do I want to know.

    *chuckle/cries*

    Edit
The last picture is out of line though. 'Help me'.

I can see these guys really keeping the prices high in the future for the rare stuff. Wasnt the gross from TF4 from china almost the same, if not more than the US?

$32,000 is a lot of money for a grown man to spend on toys. Maybe not to us on this board, but people who consider themselves "normal" whatever that means :)

I'm guessing "normal" people meaning those who spend $32,000 on sports memorabilia; or $10,000 of enhancements and custom parts on a $22,000 car; or those who drink and/or smoke that much in their lifetime?

    :lol

There's his Fort Max but I'm sure that's most likely the Encore.

that's only about £30 a week on a hobby, I think that's pretty reasonable. I've probably spent that much since 2002!

    aw gawd.

A total of 380 figures in 12 years...on average about 2 figures per month...

It's all good, I'd say good efforts, not sure if newsworthy though.
