Man, Air Raid is just a magnet for confusing toy releases.

This whole FOC Air Raid/Fireflight thing made me realize an odd pattern... Air Raid seems to get caught up in a shocking amount of identity drama.

Take Movie Air Raid...s. Four releases, all potentially the same guy, potentially all different guys. I checked TFWiki recently and apparently the DotM version has been classified as a separate character, but still confusing.

Then you have the Legends Class ones from the Aerial Rivals box set, where Air Raid and Skydive's names got switched on the packaging.

Finally, you have Air Raid and Aero Raid, identical toys but apparently different characters. Weird.

And finally, Air Raid and Fireflight, which is still Fireflight in Japan, but under a different deco and apparently G1 Fireflight and now my brain hurts.

Just a weird trend I've noticed.

I don't like how they slap "Air Raid" on a good number of jets, like how you mentioned. At least we got Breakaway, but there aren't other trademarks you can try to re-claim?

I have noticed that myself. Though I have repurposed my DOTM green boeing jet as a movie verse Cosmos.

The most confusing part? Fireflight/Air Raid has Chromedome's head.

Although similar, it's more of a FOC-stylized G1 Fireflight head.

Air Raid is the Swerve of Autobot Jets. The go-to name to slap on a figure.

It's whoever you want it to be.

I shall call the Hasbro version: Maverick, and the Takara version: Goose

I always thought it sort of resembled leozack to be honest. Either way he is going to be in my collection don't care if it's Hasbro or Takara.

Personally, it's going to be Electro for me. The head is similar enough, and... the swords!

Okay, the red is entirely new, and honestly the alt-mode works better for me as a Cybertronian low-riding hover hot rod than an actual airplane like Fireflight.

And the face is just too... mad for Fireflight.
