Does anyone have this? "The Perfect Collection." It is a 2 disc, region free set. I have been trying to find info on if it is any good or not to no avail. If anyone can provide some information on what the quality is like and whether it works in most DVD players, I appreciate it.

First, if you provided a link, it's not showing up. If you didn't, that's something you should fix; if someone here thinks they know the box set, the link would confirm it. I googled the thing, but generally folks will just move to the next thread.
Second, the version I found claims 39 episodes on 1 region free disc. That's a warning flag. If that is indeed the case, they episodes are low quality. It claims to be officially certified by the Malaysian government with an Original Hologram Sticker. I don't know about all that, but everything else screams downloaded and burned to disc. If that IS the case, do you really want to pay someone to download the series and burn it to disc?

If this is the set in thinking of, i have it. I bought this set and the english dub headmasters/ masterforce/ victory malaysian sets off ebay. Ive gotten 2/3 of the way through masterforce, and every th ing works fine on my regular store bought u.s. dvd player. I popped all the discs in when the sets arrived and ran through all the menus and everything seemed to work, i havent watched all the episodes tho

Yep that's the set. How is the episode quality? Are they pretty clean?

Pretty good. They aren't vhs rips or anything but the g1 set is a little fuzzy. But from reviews ive read on the official shout subtitle releases, they are about the same picture quality. The rid set is alot cleaner from what i remember

Thanks for the info. I think if I find a good deal on a set I will try it out. Tired of waiting.

I am like 99% sure RiD never got an official release in any territory. Car Robots got some unsubbed Japanese DVDs (of the whole thing, I believe) but RiD's rights were and are kind of a mess, so most sets you find are going to be burned DVDs. Not that there's anything wrong with that, and I own a ton of burned DVDs myself, but I reeeeeeeeeeeally doubt Disney/Saban would license a DVD set of it.

Doesn't the UK have a release of RID/Car Robots somewhere? I remember hearing it was released in two separate season releases and then a full complete series release.
