I own it and love it but just don't see damned near $1,000 in it. Guess glad it's going for that much in case I ever do sell it but shit.

I thought the playset value was terrible and the most disappointing aspect of the figure.

I’ll admit I think that’s odd but it’s your figure you’re allowed to do what you want with it (even if that’s nothing haha).
The other two modes are awesome too. In fact robot mode went back and forth between my second and my third favorite mode overall. Generations metroplex has a decent robot mode but the other two modes suck ass compared to utopia.

I love Utopia's transformation because all the sliding mechanisms and elevating platforms really remind me of the Autobot City transformation sequence in The Movie.

Utopia does look great in bot mode, no doubt. But it's worth transforming him, he's one of the few Metroplex designs with a ship mode and a base mode that actually look like a purposeful ship/base and not a big robot sitting down with his arms in different poses.

Man... there's some non-Transformers stuff I could use the extra money for, and $600-$700 is a hefty chunk of change. But I dunno... Utopia was kind of a holy grail item for me. Some days my displays look cluttered and I think about trimming down my collection, maybe ditching MP and going Legends instead. I think if I ever do that I'd still keep Utopia.

It's not perfecto, but I find city mode quite pleasing. The old Iron Factory Manacle & Turrets sets go great with it, adding lots of guns.

yo. I just got mine and while I'm loving it, there seems to be a problem with his right should/forearm swivel. does anyone know of a way to disassemble it safely? I'm kind of worried about messing it up beyond repair.

edit: after angling the other arm a bit, i can deduce that the problem is in the black hing with three screws. now I just need to find a good screwdriver to fit since they're so big

God I'd love to get my hands on this figure even though I have the Hasbro Metroplex. I want it to go along with my Planet X Apocalypse (Trypticon).

It cracks me up seeing the prices on this. About 3 years ago, I couldn't give mine away and now people are paying out the nose for it.

Were you one of the ones that paid the high premium for it? What exactly us going on with it?

It's not even that big, so I'm sure its parts would all be printable on small printers if someone wants to remodel it.

I'll try to describe it the best I can. On the right arm, there is a black piece just below the shoulder that has 3 screws and is the hinge that allows elbow bend. Something on the inside of it won't let me rotate it left to right so the arm can only move up and down as it is.

I managed to find a screwdriver but it's too wide to get to the two upper screws so it looks like i have to go shopping.

Fingers crossed atm, but worst case scenario, he just can't pull off dynamic poses. This could possibly be a good chance to test out my Tinkercad skills if it needs a replacement. Only time will tell

edit: I think the screws might've been screwed too tightly because I checked inside and nothing was wrong, so i loosened them slightly and it works well again. weird.

It looks like it fits right in! Do you have an unaltered photo so we can see it clearly?
