I'd take a regular KO Gladly.

Oh man, I love the fact this is still an active thread on TFW. I remember seeing the teasers for it, the anticipation, the saving up, and the sweet glorious unboxing. It’s one that has survived several collection purges. An extremely bold sculpt, and something that deserves revisiting regard out of the display case. It’s aging quite gracefully imho.

Same, but one the size of Titan Skorponok would be amazing

The fact the we didn't get other Metroplex figures (other than the SD one from Mastermade) certainly helped, but it's true that despite being several years old Utopia can still hold its own. And with the rumors that Hasbro might discontinue the titan class, plus the fact that the only company who seems to be interested in the citybots is Fanstoys and they are doing them at a scale and price that will be likely out of reach for the vast majority of collectors, I guess this one is going to stay in people's collections for a long time.

A lot of 3P seem to be on a 100% G1-faithful kick right now too, so more unique (and frankly more interesting) designs like Utopia aren't getting made as much. Utopia is "Metroplex but better" IMO, especially in his alt modes.

The only deviations that count are the helmet and the two skyscrapers on his back. The rest of him is Metroplex as he should be without taking into consideration the cells design failures but refining it. I was plesantly surprised when I took note of the fact that even his guns are supposed to Sixguns transformed and mass shifted legs!

He's pretty different than G1 plex, like I said especially in his alt modes, which are much more cohesive and much better designed. The city mode actually resembles a city, and the carrier mode isn't just him sitting down. Compared to a lot of the G1 faithful figures that come out these days which bend over backwards to be cartoon accurate, this is a major departure from the original.

Utopia (and Dystopia) are great, and at this point my head-canon is they are "miniature" avatars for Metroplex (and Metrotitan) to interact with their peers, despite being still the size of (MP) gestalts.

I am aware. However Generations Metroplex is not G1 faithful. He looks more like his FOC incarnation. Utopia aside a couple nit picks is way more G1 faithful.

Agree to disagree then. GenPlex even transforms the same way mostly, and is much more of a brick in bot mode. To me he feels more G1 in almost every way.

IMO as a figure (independent of accuracy) the only place GenPlex outshines Utopia is a) size and b) the headsculpt. I always wished I could switch the headsculpt of Dystopia onto Utopia since I liked it so much more. I don't dig the young-looking slender face of Utopia.

I'd break the bank for a KO oversized Utopia. I have him and love him, but having him bigger would be AMAZING

    Edit: parts found

Does anyone have the little red radar piece that they'd be willing to either sell or rent for a bit? Got a good deal on Utopia but it's missing that part and I'd like to obtain one for the sake of having it complete to redo the 6 years old gallery I had of it previously. Please PM me your price if you can help at all.

There is a footnote in the tfwiki that he is coloured in G1 Junkion colours. So I assume reds/oranges with metallic/gold trim? Or something like that.

I did not know that, thank you, but I was making a joke referring to the pattern of glass shards over the Metroplex photo :)

If they just call you a tool, that’s not nice either! ;)
