Are the fixes another set that has to be picked up, or something inbox?
They're usually included in a little baggie, somewhere in the box or taped to it.
If it didn't come with it, chances are you have the fixed version that came from the factory, because they did finally correct it all for future shipments.
If you're one of the rare cases that didn't receive the factory fixes and didn't get the baggie, you can contact the retailer you bought it from, they'll send you the pieces free of charge.
I was a little worried when I bought mine because I couldn't find the fixes at first. It's easy to miss because the parts and bag are so small, but it should be floating around in there if the figures themselves don't already have them installed.
has maketoys celeritas gone up for pre-order on his own anywhere yet?
Not that I'm aware of, but Blindfire and Sonicdrill are now in-stock at BBTS.
No, still waiting for #5 to show up for pre-order
I just got a good deal on a used Maketoys Quantron and was wondering what this small piece is for?
It goes on one of the two larger red guns at the top like a scope. There should be some shell detailing where it slides in.
Really I have no clue what the purpose is since it doesn't do anything else from what I can tell.
That is the one thing that honestly baffles me about Metalstorm. In fact, they're a bit detrimental because they like to slip off the guns so easily.
I got a replacement Overheat from BBTS recently. Hooray, the shoulder has the pin! Also, the replacement seems to have generally tighter joints.
That goes onto the big guns, and then the little tabs peg into the wings.
Thank you for the information.
Glue them? I don't think there's any reason NOT to, right? They don't need to come apart for any reason do they? It's been a short while since I've transformed mine, so I don't really remember. This is going to make me want to break him apart again.....not a bad thing, I love this guy.
Cheers! Never knew that. Always wondered why those pieces were there.
my heart stopped this weekend about my quantron. On top of my entertainment unit in my room, I have my autobot combiners in individual robot mode as a display. awhile ago I got the Toyworld Throttle bots and I was adding them to the display. In the process, Strafe (sorry I don't know all of their individual Maketoys names) fell and all of his accessories spread to the wind. I knew I wasn't going to be able to find just the accessories without buying strafe on his own, so after a few days of searching, I finally found in my room the accessories. but in tearing apart my room, I wound up loosing some of the combiner parts for the Toyworld throttlebots, luckily, they were found as well
Okay, my individual release Blindfire and Sonicdrill just arrived: what am I looking for on Sonicdrill to make sure he has the upgrade parts installed?
I'm assuming he'll be complete like Metalstorm was, but I just want to make sure.
I keep hoping for a news update that the 5th member (Celeritas?) is finally posted for pre-order so the whole set can be completed. Probably after CNY.
I know that feeling. Sucks when a figure falls off the shelf.
Okay, post-initial fiddling thoughts on Blindfire and Sonicdrill:
My thumbs hurt.
Secondly, they remind me of how some toy waves share overall resources. You know how sometimes you'll see one toy in a wave with a lot of paint or clever engineering, but to balance that out another is pretty plain or limited? It feels like Sonicdrill and Blindfire had a common pool of difficulty to draw from; Blindfire is straightforward and simple - almost too simple - while Sonicdrill is a ridiculously complex bastard.
I like them both, but I still think Overheat is the best of the limb bots I've handled so far. Mind you, I'm a heavily biased Afterburner fanboy.
The only real issue I have so far is that the pegs on Blindfire's knees seem to have been assembled wrong. The space reserved for the piston in combined mode is on the outside, not the inside. This means that there's no way to securely peg the piston in when he's in arm mode. I've tried pushing the peg in further but it's really secure and I don't want to break anything. It's a minor flaw that doesn't really detract from anything, but it is a little annoying.
anyone feels ripped off paying $400 for this guy?
Early adopter syndrome.
Love the toys, hate that I overspent.
I'm sure there will be a few more times I feel this way.
